    Hello again :O

Is it pssible to format C: then use [Acronis*True*Image*Home]s "Restore sepecified files or folders" command to restore all the files and folders without reinstalling windows?

I know it sounds weird but has anyone tried it before?

    Thank you..

If you want to have a bootable system then you need to Click on Recovery and restore the complete disk. Formatting ahead of time is not needed. Read the user guide.

Thanx for your reply but this is the only way left to me to restore the image i made to my C: some while ago.
I tried normal restoring but i always get the stupid no HDD message (which I tried everything to get ride of).
Then i found that "Restore sepecified files or folders" works just fine so can i use it the way i mentioned above or just try another Drive Image Software?

    thanx

Restoring specfied files or folder will do just that, restore files and folders. It will not result in a bootable system. I assume that you tried to restore with the rescue CD and were unsuccessful. Try building a BartPE CD using Mustang's guide Begginer's Guide to Creating a BartPE CD. What version and build number of TI are you using? Have you submitted a support request here https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=55317.

    Hello Dark Art,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Please note that as iе was mentioned we can not guarantee that you will be able to restore your operating system to a working state by restoring the file-based backup of a system partition. Actually, no one can guarantee this.

To restore the system we recommend that you create "disk\partition" image of either your system partition or even entire hard drive, which doesn't store the standalone files or directories, but saves blocks of hard drive data, saving the information the operating system, registry, drivers, software applications and data files, as well as system areas hidden from the user. Only by doing this you will ensure that after the restore you will get the exact copy of once backed up disk\partition.

As for this issue, please clarify the following:

    - Did you use Acronis True Image Bootable Rescue Media or did you use Acronis True Image in Windows?

    - What is the exact error message you have received? When exactly have you received it?

In addition, please let us know the build number of Acronis True Image, which you can find in the Help -> About dialog (it should be 4 digit number).

Please create Acronis Report as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

Then submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with a solution.

    Thank you.
