Hi,folks: For your eyes only. Their new English web site is
    http:// powershadowsecurity.com/
and its headoffice is in Chicago, yes, in the USA.
And they do have a new support email address on their web site. Try it.
Their China office( still connected?) is forcus on marketing of its enterprise version right now. It appears that this is a kind of aftermath of breakup from a love affair(in software sense). Pitty.

Please guys, i don't support a program purely out of excitement but you really need this Power Shadow and judge the results for yourself.

I want every one to undestand i have absolutely nothing to gain by endorsing this virtual program except that it it will save you that possibly of falling into some trap from which you cannot easily escape from some of a forced Malware intrusion. This program does not burden your PC system but instead offers a fanatastic opportunity to safeguard your self should a forcwful exploit make it as far as dropping some downloader or worse on your machine.

You have everything to gain so for as preventioning any attempt to write directly to your good machine from some maliciously crafted code.

Keep fresh in your mind the PS is more than capable of dumping any attempts like that straight to the rubbish bin instead of them attaching to your system MD COSTING YOU GRIEF with the time it would take to track it then delete it from yur system,.

Folks, I have finally installed PS. Some basic information on how I did that: 1) Window Firewall only ... I am not using other firewall as I am not going to learn new rule sets at the moment. (I did not shut down any application at all apart from Browser) 2) Installed PS with ADS (downloaded from Chinese site English Version) before the powershadowsecurity information was posted on about HQ in US. 3) Clicked Installed and followed through. 4) Launch Master then registered using the information provided on this website. i.e. User name: Powershadow, s/n: the one provided. 5) Type in Powershadow (or power shadow can't remember which now but check on page 8 on this thread) and then cut and paste the s/n. 6) Registration successful. 7) Activated PS in single mode. (I can select full but I chose Single mode) These were the things I noticed when I activated PS. 1) I Could Not switch to Limited User a/c ( a bit disappointed with this) as PS would not allow. 2) Reboot and enter Limited User a/c. Saw PS icon on desktop and tried to activate it but to my disappointment PS asked me to do so in Administrative mode. So I can't use PS in Limited a/c. 3) During my first activation of PS in Admin, SnoopFree popped up twice once related to Shawdow Setting (I allowed) but the second time SnoopFree popped up regarding PS wanting to ShadowTip, I denied it but everything seemed fine. 4) Oh ya ... internet connection icon temporarily showed no connection even when I was connected but upon rebooting everything went back to normal. Therefore, I think I am back to square one since I only use my Limited User a/c for everything and not the Admin. My Admin a/c is only meant for Windows Update plus installation of programmes. Not sure what else to do really ... hmmm ... I think they need to improve on these areas. 1) Need to cater for Limited User or other User Accounts. 2) Need to know what Shadow Setting. 3) Need to know what ShadowTip is ... Not sure about the dial home thingy as I only use Window Firewall. So in Limited user a/c I am back to Sandboxie. All feedback welcome. Chew. P/s: oh ya ... while in shadow mode I moved all my desktop icons all over the place and upon reboot everything went back to normal position as if nothing happened.

Folks, Update. Okay, I managed to activate PS in Limited User a/c through reboot in normal mode and set it to Single PS mode. No Full PS mode available though. If I set it this way I can switch users. i.e. to any of the accounts I set up like the Admin, Limited User or guest. I guess I will now test out if other partitions will be shadowed as I cannot adjust to Full Shadow Mode while in Limited User a/c. I wonder if I can activate the Full Shadow Mode since I can switch to Admin now. Will update later. Cheerio Chew P/s: I reboot into Single Shadow Mode and went on to log in as Limited User while there I save a pic from the website on my Limited User a/c's My Document and later turn off the PC to Reboot. Although it warned me that I was in Single Shadow Mode and the pic I saved was on non-shadow partition some how when I booted the pic was gone! Not even there. Oh ya it wouldn't let me log off from Limited User a/c. (though I could switched to other a/c) but I can Turn Off the pc from there. hmmm .. wonder I will find out why the pic was gone even if it was not on shadowed partition.

Is this the same? 'Restricted users could use Powershadow through 'startu' menu, select shadow mode & use your user's account to enter Powershadow.' (from the daily tips) ......... For Limited Users, you can only use way no.2 to enter shadow mode. Open Powershadow master interface under normal mode. Enter shadow mode by clicking start button, your system will soon be switched to shadow mode. (from the Help Menu) ......So which is which? Can anyone explain please.

Reading up on PowerShadow in this forum has been interesting.A lot of positive comments.Has anyone experanced conflicts with any security software they are using ?Any known ones ? Does PowerShadow have password protection so no one else can access it without the password ? One more question please,if something breaks out or bypass's PowerShadow would other security software still work correctly to protect me. I'm tempted to try this .I tried BufferZone not long ago and I could not even boot into windows. Good thing for RollbackRX.

There have been some pretty serious tests run by both Easter and Yankn, and they've never had a problem with anything getting through, and I've kept up to date on all their comments and tests.

I can't chance trying malware since I've only got the one computer and can't afford to have it down. But, for me, I've never experienced a single piece of software that I've downloaded fail to install or run. That's as far as I've gone. I can say that my security programs alert normally when installing anything, and when I reboot every trace of the download disappears.

    Hello travellinman

You have nothing to woory abour with PS, it's by now proven a VERY EFFECTIVE program that will serve any PC very well in what it claims to accomplish. Some suspicions & critics are completely without merit. It cannot hurt and would now hurt any PC and on the contrary is perhaps the past Virtual Shadow/Clone which is come along in a very long time.

They done their homework on it and have fashioned together a very good and reliably proficient program that lives up to it's claims.

I will never be without it again, it is a important shield against potential intrusions bar none and thats that.

So is this Alternate Data Stream found in the original PS 2.6 downloaded from the powershadow website instead of tucows of any concern?

Don't worry your head over that plz. Just download the link which is without the AS and you are safe and your concscience can't conjure up suspicions about it. Simple as that really.

I think, after looking at the PS American website that we got this software just in time. I have a feeling the freebie days are over, or about to be over.

Your welcome, Easter, but somebody would have found it if I hadn't. All thanks should go to you and Yankn though for doing all the heavy work testing it.

I just found it. You two proved it was worth it.

That might be but you done the entire security community a great surface for bringing it to our attention. That proves you're in this for the long run indeed.

Well I unfortunately downloaded and installed the version from the Powershadow.com webstite instead awhile ago before talk of an ADS was known. So is it really confirmed that that version really does have an Alternate Data Stream attatched to it? Wonder how that ADS was deleted in the tucows download site version? Are there any ADS deleters out there that are good besides Rootkit unhooker? I just loath the idea of having to uninstall this and delete this snapshot and rebuild it again. I just got it perfect.

Folks, I am not sure if I got the version 2.6 with ADS now ... I downloaded from Tucows again it and in the folder it says 3,701 KB Application. The one that I installed, I think from the Chinese site, is 3,709 KB Application. So is the one from the Chinese site i.e. 3,709 KB Application with ADS? (I put a note down on the Application as with ADS thinking that it is better?) Please ease my worry. Cheers Chew P/s: I read through the threads on 384, 385, 391, 410, 411, 412 and although the example given was that good.exe "could be" infiltrated by bad.exe using ADS ... I wonder how safe it is to have the one with ADS? YankinNcrankin posted this before https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=950273&postcount=3

I am currently using the one that had ADS in it as it is the original from the official web site http://www.powershadow.com/en/product.htm . You can remove the ADS using Assassin 3.0.0 G13 http://www.majorgeeks.com/Assassin_d4794.html it wont harm the installer program, after doing this you can install the program as usuall. This program is a keeper as the registry activation key will not expire, as the program can be activated without a live connection.

Not to worry anyone here but maybe the professionals can look at this drwtsn32.log, this was a hidden file on my box that I recently came across as a result of using TinyWatcher with modified settings so I could have complete scanning of my OS. If any of you see something to be concerned about say something please. I am hoping this has something to do with the way PowerShadow does its virtualization and not something else that it shouldn't be doing.
