    Hi guys,

Just went to www.eset.co.uk to purchase a second licence to run NOD on the kid's new PC. I can't connect to any page on Eset's site (UK) except the home page. Also tried www.nod32uk.com and it's the same.

The secure ordering page and the contact page are both down, amongst others. I have confirmed this as a global problem by using SpotCheck on Alerta's UpTime checker.

That was done at 18:50 GMT today - 20th February 2007.

Does anyone know anything about this? Looks like I'm installing AVG Free for now  Cheers,

    Lee

No problem from my location according to Alertra at this moment in time and all pages at the UK site I checked came up fairly quickly.

As I said, the HOME page (www.eset.co.uk as listed in your Alerta log) IS working ok. But the purchase page and contact pages are not.

I clicked on the purchase page and waited an AGE, before trying the contact/online tech support page with the same result. I went to www.nod32.uk and their purchase page rather than the eset.co.uk purchase page, and that wouldn't load either.

Checked the actual link to the purchase page

    https://secure.eset.co.uk/order/category.asp?intCategoryId&rdr=afe

and this comes up ERROR on Alerta.

I should add; I tried to purchase via www.eset.com (the US site) but it said "redirecting you to a regional sales page" (or something very similar) and that failed also.

    Cheers.

As I said....all pages at the UK site I checked came up fairly quickly....which included the"purchase page and contact pages". While it may be happening on your end and possibly others....it's not a "global problem"....which may or may not help you determine where the issue lies.

I have checked my end as best as I know how - it's a fresh XP install as of this morning. I can access other HTTPS pages ok so it's not a secure page issue; I can access other online stores ok; no other websites are returning this issue.

Alerta is still reporting ERROR at my end, so I presume it's not just my computer or ISP, as Alerta shows other sites (such as the home page eset.co.uk) and other unrelated sites as "OK". If Alerta is working, and my PC seems to be working, I call it a "global problem" to mean it isn't just my individual PC - as Alerta couldn't access them from its US, UK or European servers either. Sorry for any confusion.

Not trying to be a pain - I'm just one of those dying consumer entities... an existing customer, returning with cash business looking to hand over his readies :p :D

EDIT: I didn't think it was my job to determine where the issue lies? This is the official Eset tech support forum, of which I'm a paying customer, so I thought that was the point of my posting? LOL Not trying to be funny, I just want to get this thing working and paid for ;)

I can get the home page but can't get the purchase page to come up - just times out.

Nobody said it was your job and it's definetly not funny. The issue does appear to be real and feedback from others might help in determing the best approach until someone from Eset happens by but there's no real need to get your knickers in a knot.

If you haven't considered it yet....perhaps you could download the Free 30-Day Trial and enter your user name\password info at a later time when the connection issue has been resolved.

I can confirm that the purchase page is still down.

I would suggest doing as Bubba suggested; download the trial version for now. Knowing Eset UK (they are just around the corner here) they will soon have a fix.

I also cannot reach the purchase page or the trial version page from eset.com here in the US. I tried last night and this afternoon, and keep getting "Connection timed out - The server at forms.netsuite.com is taking too long to respond." when trying to reach both the free download and the purchase page.

I did a tracert (to netsuite.com and shopping.netsuite.com) and it stops here every time:

    Tracing route to shopping.netsuite.com [63.209.28.41]

    11 70 ms 77 ms 69 ms ge-11-1.ipcolo2.SanJose1.Level3.net [4.68.123.106]
    12 unknown.Level3.net [63.209.14.254] reports: Destination net unreachable.

Any word on this issue? I need nod32 for my laptop... :)

Perhaps I am mis-understanding but if you are in the US....why would you need to reach a site in the UK :doubt: Can you not purchase nod32 for your laptop from a US reseller :doubt:

Well, I thought I'd just post in this thread rather than start a new one. The issue here is that I cannot reach the site to download it (it appears the server is down?). No retailers near me have it, and I don't want to drive somewhere when I should be able to download and purchase it online...I was just trying to call attention to the fact that their server seems to be down in hopes that someone would look into it :doubt:

Maybe ESET have gone out of business, especially as no word from them on here and site is still down.

ESET.co.uk works fine, but I only checked the homepage.

    Secure.ESET.co.uk doesn't work - times out!

Thanks for all replies so far :)

Bubba, I certainly wasn't attempting to convey that I had my 'knickers in a knot'; I even added smilies to try to emphasise that. I admit reading back I sound fairly brusque, for which I apologise. Not that it's an excuse, but rather by way of explanation, I'm into 36 hours without sleep nursing a terminally ill relative.

Your post itself at the time sounded somewhat dismissive, when I was asking for help on here as to where the problem lies (if I was able to figure it out myself, I wouldn't have posted lol). As I said, it honestly wasn't meant to sound rude and again I apologise that it obviously did :)

I can rest easier knowing it's not just me having trouble on the time-outs, so until Eset happen by with a fix thanks to all (including Bubba :D ) for posting.

    Cheers.

    I thought so :D

It seems to be working again but the point I was making is that if this is their official support forum then you would have thought that they would have posted some info when it was down for hours.

This is the ESET International Forum. It is mainly managed by ESET Slovakia, in addition other ESET Moderators from around the world help out as do Wilders Security Staff (volunteers).

    Cheers :D
