    Hi,

Asking for a very dear friend, Marti, a question:

Is there perhaps a prob between NOD32 and WinPatrol (11.1.2007)?
    (I don't have WinPatrol, sorry !).

Hi! I have Nod32 and the said version of WinPatrol (Professional).
I can only find two parts starting up, I checked this from 3 sources.
But there are no warnings of error's. Nod32 is functioning properly. :)

Same here (well, except that my version of WinPatrol is 10, not 11). But from reading the link that Jan provided, nod32.exe is the on-demand scanner of NOD32....so I'm not sure that it needs to be "loaded at startup".....right?

The key piece of information that Jan provided was
this is the issue, I doubt very much it has anything to do with WinPatrol.

    Cheers :D

Thanks for starting this thread, Jan.

NOD32 has always been on this computer system (no other AV's have ever been installed).

I have been out of the house and busy with other things the past few days, so have not had time to work on this problem.

I looked at my other computer that is running a different startup monitor; this is path shown:

    Code:
    "C:\Program Files\ESET\nod32kui.exe" /WAITSERVICE

I hope to have time to work on this problem today.

There are generally only a very few reasons for why NOD32 Kernel fails to start:

    1. Insufficient memory (either RAM or Virtual Memory). This is mostly an issue on old laptops where people are expecting the same performance as they have on desktop machines. However this probably isn't your case.

    2. Damaged installation. This is mostly the result of bad update or resetting the computer etc. Easiest solution is reinstallation (or more precisely uninstallation of NOD32 and then installing a fresh copy of NOD32).

    3. Remnants of other AV products.

    4. Other very specific and rare issues like faulty RAM module or system date set to 2080 and later (which also ruins other programs).

    Cheers :D

Having now downloaded WinPatrol for the first time in a long while....it appears there are only a couple of places where one would add program items into WinPatrol....Startup Programs and Delayed Start.

    With that in mind....

    1) Which tab did you add the Nod items to ?
    2) What operating system is this on ?

    Hi Bubba,

I don't recall which menu item I used to add programs.

    Hi marti,

In order for others to possibly help further....do you mind taking a look at the tabs and tell us which menu you added them to or have you un-installed the program ?

The most likely place someone would ADD a start up entry would be in the "Delayed Start" tab. There would be no need to add them to the "Startup Programs" tab, since the required entries would already be there there if NOD is installed correctly. If they are not there, it would be better to uninstall and reinstall NOD rather than mess with the start up entries manually.

Adding NOD startup entries to the new "Delayed Start" tab might not be the best idea. Generally, one would want their security software to start early, without adding any additional delay.

I have used past versions of WinPatrol with NOD without issue. Tying the current version now.
