Hi everyone. New LnS user here. LnS installed and runs great on my W2K desktop. However, upon installing it on my W98 notebook I keep getting the message:

"Unable to load driver lnsfw1 - [Error 3]."

Previously I had been running Black Ice and had no problems. Before that had used ZA, no problems there either. I think I managed to get those fully uninstalled.

Have been working w/ tech support who tells me. "The main problem is the Look 'n' Stop driver doesn't find the TCP service. This step is very straight forward when the driver initializes. It could be either the TCP service is no longer properly installed (but still operational though) or someone (another application) already hooked the TCP service causing Look 'n' Stop driver to not detect it.

I've tried to uninstall anything that might be getting in the way. For AV I use NOD32 2.7. Also have Adaware SE, Spybot S&D. Any ideas as to how to further diagnose this would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Even if the other software firewall products been uninstalled previous-to ‘Look ‘n’ Stop install’, you should ensure these firewalls are not leaving any left-behinds, often the left-behinds are the reasons for many sorts of problems experienced.

I'll keep an eye on this topic just encase the topic owner decides to return.

check network settings had same problem when updating drivers may have to add an adapter or protocol ,client or service probably adapter or protocol...upon clicking on network in control panel if the problem is there it may say your network settings are not complete if so proceed and add what seems to be missing good luck...............

    Try this :
uninstall lns and shut system down .
Reinstall lns and shut down system again before opening lns again.
