I like TI and it has worked well for me. I will be upgrading a box to Vista soon, so I will need v.10 for that. It appears that the upgrade price for TI is $29.99. That is the same price that TI is available at several legitimate retailers like NewEgg. Now, maybe it's me, but shouldn't the 'upgrade' price be lower than the 'retail' price? An 'upgrade' price usually means "Hey, we are giving you a special price because you are a customer who has paid us before and we want to give you a break and keep you as a customer." That isn't the feeling one gets when their upgrade deal is available to anyone whether they have bought before or not. Am I off base here?

NewEgg has the upgrade version listed at $19.99, so their upgrade price is less than their new price. You are comparing the prices at two different retailers for two different products (apples and oranges).

All of the NewEgg prices for Acronis software are about $10 less than if purchased directly from Acronis.

    cybrguy,

I understand the point you are making, which relates to inconsistent pricing, but $19.99 and $29.99 are both very reasonable prices for software as useful as TrueImage.

As kOlo has suggested, I upgraded through NewEgg. This is a downloadable version, so there is no shipping, and there is no sales tax even in California.

Version 10 of TrueImage adds a number of useful features (especially for Linux users) and is well worth the money.

I didn't realize that NewEgg sold the upgrade as well as the retail product. I was comparing their retail price to the upgrade price offered by Acronis. Nevermind, My Bad...
