Need a complete solution

Whether paid or free, I need a complete anti-malware suit of armor for my pc. Right now I use AOL Kaspersky AV, Zonealarm pro, spywareblaster and win patrol. What other programs are beneficial to add? Thanks.

 

You could add Spywareblaster's brother, Spywareguard, both are Javacool.

Either or both of Ad-Aware and Search and Destroy.

System Safety Monitor.

Superantispyware and or Spyware Terminator.

All of the above are spoken about here at Wilders and all are very good for
covering yo ass, security wise.

Cool, thanks. What about some of the other programs I hear get mentioned alot like DeepFreeze, Shadow Copy, Shadow Surf, and so much freeware it makes my head spin. I would like to get the most effective stuff.

 

An imaging program maybe.

 

Ok, any suggestions? I know True Image will come up but I want to see all my options.

Instead of gettign adaware or spybot which have low detection rates, get superantispyware or AVG antispyware

BOTH! SuperAntiSpyware and AVG 7.5 with their "guard" protections offers you the most protection/detection you can find while both programs run very stable on my XP Pro boxes.

Since KIS6 is now in place, i feel like there is less work for them but always at the ready if something unknown should just happen by. LoL

 

You could add Power Shasow and System Safety Monitor.

Hi, folks: A complete solution? it all depends upon what you have in mind. A air borne division or an armored tank division. Both can fulfil their assigned duties. For a light, effective choice, try to use a sandbox/virtualization app, Firewall w/ inbound-outbound protection, Antivirus w/ realtime monitor, CIPS(prevx1) and sprinkled w/ on demand AS(superantispyware). As for the heavy one, just load everything you can scoop up, free or pay, until your system can not bear anymore. And then you can draw your own conclusion to see which one is better for your needs. Well thats good that your not limiting yourself to just free programs.(there are many good free ones out there thou) My suggestion would be make sure you have a solid firewall,an excellent AV(NOD32 or Kaspersky would be good choices) An anti-trojan and anti-spyware running real time.(my personal favorites are BOClean and AVG AS)Winpatrol and spywareblaster ave very good to have. Both have been in my setup for a long time.Linkscanner pro is another good one(saved my ass one time from an exploit)A few on demand scanners are good to.(if for nothing else, peace of mind)You have to see what works for you,because what works on my pc may not on yours.(differant programs running,OS,browser,etc.)I learned that a recovery or imageing software is needed also.You can check out my sig which works very well for me.No problems at all since I have had this set up.But its trial and error setting up your security.Good luck.
