programs support for linux wish list

hello,
i was wondering what software if any you would like to have linux support?
mine are
1.diskeeper
2. sonicstage (for sony music players)
i cant think of any more atm.
im sure this list will be long lol

Not needed. If you keep at least 15 % of free space, you should be OK. Linux´s filesystems are smarter than NTFS.

If you have your music in ATRAC3, you are out of luck. That´s the beauty of closed formats . Wine may help you.

I think that Google already has a Linux version.

ATRAC is a very low-grade format. Besides, I have already posted you some links, with potential solutions.

Google Earth does not have a Linux version yet, but it will be coming soon.

Let me thing if there's anything I might like ...

Come to think of it, I can't think of anything that I might need and isn't already available. In fact, the list should be the other way around... But, I'll brainstorm.

i think the ultimate ticket for me would be mandriva linux powerpack
it includes vmware so i could use mandriva mainly but use xp in wmware.
or any linux really with wmware installed
im some ways im lucky because most of my games i play on my nintendo wii or sony ps2
my pc is more for music,email and webbrowsing and not to forget software testing=D

Nero´s AAC encoder is very good.
The only advantage of ATRAC3 is battery life.

cdparanoia is behind Andre´s algorithms.

 

i have read alot of reviews and most of them say that atrac format sounds way better than the stupid apple format.
Walkmans have always been one of the best sounding music players.
thats why i brought a walkman and use sonicstage because the sound quality is better and so is the battery life.
if only the great Russ Andrews could tell us if it sounded better or not

Also, the Apple format is a industry standard (AAC)

so your dissing russ andrews years of research? and dont belive that Purifing the mains makes less interference and better sound?
my dad get a £15 mains cable from russ andrews and it did make the sound of my dads hifi system sound better.

why why microsoft office?
i know they could easy support it on linux since its on mac.
what features do you want that open office doesnt have?
open office is really cheap and microsoft office is like £300 just for poerpoint rofl who wants to spend that money just for powerpoint.
you could get a dual core pc theses days for the price of powerpoint or even vista for the price of just powerpoint

i got office xp professinal for £15 because my uncle works for bt and could get it for £15 as long as you follow the home user license one pc and one laptop.

Why bother to start talking about a wishlist for linux if you're happy with MS office, and have no intention of using linux because of the kids or whatever?
And ms-office will never be supported by linux ofcourse, that's something that will never happen.

So what's there to wish for?, you're not gonna use linux, nor openoffice, you're perfectly happy with what you use, i say: stick with it.
