Has anyone tried the beta version of this?I do have WinPatrol Plus and would like to try it but not crazy about anything beta.Looks like the only thing major added is being able to set when your start up programs load.I may give it a try,did with LinkScanner Pro and was not disapointed.http://www.winpatrol.com/beta2007.html

OK, tried out the delayed startup of an app.

Seems you have disable the auto startup function within the app you want to delay and let Winpatrol control the startup in order for the delayed startup to work properly.

Thanks for informations but i personally do not like beta or alpha versions etc...Its better to stay with your current stable version (i believe that last winpatrol plus version is 10.0.5.0) until new stable version is realeased.

WinPatrol 2007 - Coming Soon to a Computer Near You

I've seen some people speak poorly about WinPatrol in this forum.

    I think it's great.:thumb:

WinPatrol has helped me learn about MANY of the start-up programs, services, and tasks running on my computer.

The $20 I paid for a lifetime membership 4 years ago was some of the best security/computer education money I've spent.

I like the "First Detected" feature of the startup programs tab.

    Good stuff.

    Hello Frank,

In total agreement. Despite the huge range of other security softwares out there there will always be a place for WinPatrol on my setup. Very useful program indeed, ive also got a lifetime license and have been using it for years. I dont have much use of the new delayed startup facility but I find WinPatrol very useful in controlling startup progs, tasks and services on my box and it compliments my other security apps perfectly. Scotty will be barking on my system for quite some time yet. ;)

This is WinPatrol's description of itself.

One of the mod's merged WinPatrol threads -- taking the one I started out of the Anti-Malware tab. I wonder why? It's no big deal, I just consider WinPatrol more of an Anti-malware tool rather than a Privacy tool.

I guess the positive unintended effect was to have me look around over here (in the "Privacy Software" section) and learn a few things -- I don't usually hang out in this here part of Wilder's. I always heard it was a rough crowd over here.

As usual this app refuses to work correctly on my system, it doesn´t seem to do anything! I would rather use Arovax Shield if I had to choose. :thumbd:

I agree completely. One of my "must keep" programs. The "Plus" option has helped me alot with the services running.
