Is AOL antivirus On-Demand only possible

Is is possible to install the AOL antivirus scanner for only on-demand use, so it is not loaded up except when I wish to scan something in particular? Anyone with any experience doing that with this program?

 

the real time monitor should be able to be disengaged at start up. try this.
start > run > type in msconfig > press ok > Start > uncheck the Kav box or boxes > ok > you will get an alert when you reboot about the change. just ok it. (i tick the dont remind me again check box as well) Im sure theres a better way maybe when you first install it by selecting "custom" install although i cannot remember if you have that choice.
