How does this works?

    Hello anybody, i've installed SpyBlaster on my computer a lot of time,
    vecuse that i want to do some test to the program, to know if the program really works in my computer.
    So, many times apparece in my navegitor the knowns message that ask me if i want to install Gator (EXAMPLE) So, if i will click YES, The SpyBlaster stop the installation of this software?
    And if not, How the progrm portect me?

    Hi Beginner,
    You only have to install SB,click on select all,the protect from all selected items and yes SB will protect you from
    GATOR activ x installer.
    Don't forget to look for updates now and the(once a week IMHO)

    mmm yes, i'm installed the program, and i updated him every week.. (like today)
    So, if i Click YES the GATOR soft don't be installed in my PC?

    Hi Beginner,

    The answer is "maybe". SpywareBlaster contains protection for many variants of Gator's ActiveX Installer. If what you are seeing in those install questions is one of those, then SB will prevent that ActiveX control from downloading and/or running.

    However, it's not clear to me how exactly how you are trying to test this. I don't know if what you are seeing is an ActiveX installer for Gator or something else, so I don't recommend trying it.

    Kill-bits for ActiveX items are controlled from a common location in the Windows registry. If you run SpywareBlaster and "Select All" the items and use the "Protect Against Checked Items!" button you should be protected. SpywareBlaster itself verifies that the protections are in place when you first run it...

    When you run SpywareBlaster you see a progress bar as it is checking the Windows registry attempting to determine if the protections it covers are already set in there. If when that loading has finish you see all the items in the main SpywareBlaster window are "checkmarked", then it has verified that the protection is in place.
