A few days age, I was alerted to a new pile of nonsense: small.dam. (I hope it's OK to say that it was a Microsoft MVP *** who emailed me.)

Now, I've had an urgent message today from Symantec - I am not protected against a rapidly-spreading virus, trojan.peacomm.

I'm not a teccie but to my simple brain, they're the same. (eg emails saying such as "senate attacked - senator killed", "China nukes Russia" etc.

My Norton window is suitably shaded a frightening red - "there's a problem"   (trojan.peacomm)   and a 'protect me now' link. That doesn't work - it recommends using live update. That says I'm up to date!
A special link to Symantec doesn't work either, saying " Service Unavailable - Zero size object". (That must be my brain/IQ) "The server is temporarily unable to service your request. Please try again later. Reference #15.4574350.1169492584.15a53f36"
Emailed Symantec - very helpful reply, pointing me to the automatic download of "Intelligent Updater". Didn't work! Then pointed me to a manual version - 14 meg - did work.
Well, not quite. It told me I needed Intelligent Update version 2.
Now waiting to hear from Symantec.
Anyone else having this nonsense from Symantec, please o_O?? :gack: :gack: :gack:

** Can I mention him here please, Mr Moderator??

    Hello To Everyone :) ,
i have the same problem as you have mentioned!
yesterday i got an elert from the Norton Internet Security that trojan.peacomm has entered my computer.

but i cant find it anywhere in the computer, also in my mail box there is no mail that is unknown or suspicious.

although i have a warrning signle from norton thats flashing, when i scan my computer it doesnt detect this trojan.

I would appriciate any thoughts or ideas from youll.

    Kind Regards
