I noticed a temp folder in my program files folder --- That in itself is a bit suspicious --- in the folder were the following:

    Uninstall [a folder]
    Admin.exe 36 KB
    Message.ini 1 KB
    Msg.ini.ini 2 KB

    Msg_chs.ini 1 KB

    Msg_cht.ini 1 KB
    Msg_kor.ini 1 KB

I googled admin.exe but there was too much information. I kind of have the feeling this was something that I did for some reason (like to read the ini files) but I don't remember a think about it now. I'm just going to ice this stuff, but if anyone happens to know what this stuff is I'd like to know.

Something to do with defining the admin security level, maybe?

I just looked at it some more --- it sure looks familiar, I hope I did not already inquire about it! It looks like it is a bunch of messages that will be displayed if various problems occur in some installation (for instance, must have admin security level to install program). It's probably no big deal, but one hates to see executable programs lying around in temp folders...

    Hello HandsOff,
it could be like your second thought. Could it help opening your notepad and dragging file for file there so you can read them which might open your memory what and why you did it?
Once you remember you might like to note that down and save that as a txt in the same folder for a next occasion.

Hi Jooske, and thanks for the suggestion. I did something like what you suggested, but the messages I read were all just generic stuff that could apply to any program being installed. I get worried when I google something like "Admin.exe" and there are hundreds of results, some having to do with spyware, but very hard to read.

When people started posting their HJT logs and other system monitor logs to the internet by the millions it created a major problem! Now when you do a search there is to much returned simply because someone had that process running. 99.9% of the time it was not a problem, but the search engine just looks for matches.

Anyway, It gives me some peace of mind to ask here if anyone has heard anything bad. Take care!
