Nod32 Account/Password not saving

we have 5 computers in my house, and Nod32 only seems to work flawless on my 2.

On all the other computers they seemed to develop a problem where they (after recently buying another year subscription) no longer hold the new Password/account info, after I type it in, it updated, but then next time I go to update it pops up the window again asking me to re submit the account info (the the older accounts info defaulted in there)

Anyone have any idea why this would be happening?

(BTW I bought the 5ish comp licence so its not cause im tryin to streach a 1 licence out )

Oh yes thankyou, but thats not it Im acually pretty familiar with nod32 and have been using it for over a year

It works great on my PC's, but for some reason now the newest acount info update isnt sticking on the families PC's. The info is correct, I go to update, it asks for the info, i put it in and then it accepts it and updates fine. But it doesnt store it it seems

It is possible that there using a older version, could that be it? I mean I thought an update would acually update it fully, but now im noticing that there is slight differences between the 2 on mine, I think that one of my PC's versions is a bit older since it doesnt have the anti stealth option.

So does doing an update that supposedly updates program files not acually update everything, and if the install is old enough would the new account info/updates not hold?

 

There is version 2.5 and the new 2.7
The new one supports Vista and has new anti-rootking technology against active rootkits.

No , it cannot be the old version 2.5 Lots of people still use it because it still hasn't been auto updated to version 2.7

I suggest you reinstall NOD32 on the computers you have problems . Reinstalling should fix them .

1) Download a fresh copy of NOD32 for your correct operating system
Full paid version

2) Goto Control Panel-> Add/Remove programs and Uninstall NOD32 . Reboot after that

3) Goto C:\Program files and manually delete the folder ESET

4) Install NOD32 from the file you just downloaded in step 1
Use Typical settings . Enter the username/password during the installation

5) Make sure you have stable i-net connection and NOD32 (nodkrn.exe) is allowed to go through your firewall and Update NOD

1 more quick question.

The new one supports anti rootkit technology. Will installing after the fact if lets say a rootkit is already present (that 2.5 wouldnt of detected) will 2.7 fix it or would it be installing in a compromised state? (Im not saying i think there is one, but truthfully im unsure, their my famlies computers and you know how that stuff goes, who knows what they may have DL'd. Its why im trying to protect them with Nod32. Little brothers and sisters dont exactly listen to you when you say "dont DL stupid stuff with a P2P program" )

 

Both 2.5 and 2.7 detect rootkits via signatures and heuristics . However , 2.7 is stronger because it uses special technologies to bypass rootkit technologies and detect already ACTIVATED rootkits . 2.5 can't because its engine is different . If you have had 2.5 from when the computer started to be used , it is less likely for you to have a rootkit installed but about your question -> YES 2.7 will both identify and remove the rootkit if there is one installed . Yes , NOD32 can be installed "in a compromised state" . Malware doesn't affect it (I mean less can do it) Simply reinstall and if you have a firewall + NOD32 you'll have no problems
