    Hi Everybody,
I have both Nero 7 and Acronis 10 on my machine. I'm a newbie with Acronis, but I have been using Nero, since the nero 6 version, to back-up My Documents, music files, etc. But I never used Nero to back up my entire hard drive. Recently, I used Acronis to back up my hard drive to dvds. And I started wondering how would a Acronis drive back up compare to a nero drive back up? I read threads comparing Norton ghost to Acronis but never to Nero back ups. Any thoughts?
    Anyways, Happy New Year everyone!

    nero just does file backups.
acronis does a full image of your whole harddrive which means if you can no longer boot your pc you can load the restore cd and restore the image from that cd.
happy new year to you as well!

I have done complete drive backup with Nero Back it Up in Nero 6.6.0.16.In any other version after it,restoring the image failed and haven't tried since.

But in 6.6.0.16 it worked fine several times. It created a seld bootable DVD image (using caldera DOS if i well remember) and performed prefectly.

I tried Nero Backup once and it did not compress the data and I also had to do any restoration through Nero. Gave that up immediately in favor of Cobian and DriveImage XML
