Well I guess for some, if your choice wasnt the winner you would hear about how inaccurate tests like these are. But I know how much effort is put into these tests to make them as accurate and fair as possible so, Congrats to Eset and to you IBK, for all you do.

    Just wait till next year.:)

I was wondering, how would AntiVir 6 perform in these tests. AV 6 can still be updated with the fusebundle, the engine9x_h.zip and the specvir_h.zip. Many of the files in AV 7 with the same name, can be used with AV 6. Can anyone comment on AV 6 as per these tests?

The engines in those packages for AV6 are vastly different from the AV7 version. Detection would be a LOT worse with the AV6 engine. No "ahead" heuristics for example, and a lot of missing generic detections.

    Don't use v6, do yourself a favour.

Would this apply to Ashampoo AV as well, which seems to be using the 6.37 engine? o_O

yes it would but i aint too sure about 7 being a whole lot better than 6.3 for detection

I think ashampoo uses a v7 engine with old versioning number, if you have it installed you can easily tell by the size of avewin32.dll. If it is larger than 1,5mb it is a v7 engine with old version number.

But why would they use an old version number? o_O

IBK when the new comparatives test comes out could it be tested with the latest beta of Comodo and you could just make a post of its results? I'm curious to see if they've improved from the last test you did.

    Regarding Ashampoo antivirus.
I thought it was the 6.37 AntiVir engine. Can't check it since I went to back AntiVir PE Classic after a few days.

comodo will be included in the second testing group along with others, which results will be released most probably also in march.
