Using Acronis 10 Home I initially created a full archive. Later, I went in and setup to have scheduled incremental archives and did not use my initial full archive as part of the scheduled/incremental archive setup. Now for some reason I cannot delete the initial full archive that I no longer need as I get the message saying file is being used by another program. What process (s) do I need to kill temporarily to allow me to delete the file o_O I have never had problems deleting old archives until I setup a scheduled task even though it is not related to the file I want to delete.

    Thanks in advance ...

You can probably force the file handle closed by rebooting and then trying to delete. That will probably be easier than trying to track down whichever program (Win thinks) still has it open.

Easiest way to track down what program is using a file is to download ProcessMonitor from http://www.sysinternals.com/.

I've tried to do that and sometimes you can track it down and sometimes not. And sometimes, by the time you do, either you've shut down enough processes that you need to reboot to be sure things operate properly, or the the amount of time taken -- well, you might as well have just rebooted.

OF course, if you know which program is holding onto the file, the easiest thing is to close that program and hope that it releases the file when it closes down.

If your only aim is to delete the file and not understand which process is holding it then you could try renaming the file, rebooting and then deleting the renamed file.
