My vote is for a VA1912W (19-inch widescreen LCD, 8ms response time). Very nice picture quality and colour reproduction. :)

I have three Viewsonics. One 17" viewsonic crt is close to ten years old and still runs like new , a 19" crt which is over 7 yrs old and runs perfectly too. I bought a 19" viewsonic lcd a year ago and it also runs perfect and no dead pixels or problems. So I have to say they are very reliable and of good quality.

Previously I would have had to vote for the Dell "Ultra Sharp" monitors, of which I have 2. Then I just found a Sceptre 20.1" (widescreen) with 1000:1 contrast ratio and 5ms response time for $200 (after rebate). The Sceptre on an analog connection is as sharp as the Dells on a DVI, and is fantastic for games. It's also got lots of good ratings on newegg, with the exception of the base (which isn't that bad, but one could always buy an Ergotron).

Good topic. I have no LCD only 15" CRT on both my machines. I am in the market for one for the "youngest" machine, as my Sony Trinitron is giving me a little trouble. :p

I second that, Eizo really deserves it's own place in this poll. Went from samsung to S1910, main reason was movies and u bet ya. Only hd video could make thinghs better!

    Id say n1

A vote for ViewSonic CRTs here also,

and I think I'll be sticking with CRTs for a while. Recently I've been in a position to buy 2 new Samsung 19 LCDs for a reasonable price, but I've done "some" research and cancelled that deal in a last moment. Gee, that was close o_O , even if they were cheap and look sooo fancy, that's not a smal amount of money.
LCD technology needs a lot of baking still, IMO.
