I have Acronis TI7. My computer tells me I have a TI file in my secure zone.

Can I copy this file as a .tib file onto backup media or do I have to restore it completely into a partition and then back it up? I'd like to just move the file out of the secure zone and reformat my hard drive.

    Any ideas?

Moving a .tib file from a secure zone is not an option.
It can be mounted, explored or restored to its original partition or to a different location. Once there it is no longer a .tib file. The .tib file will still exist in the secure zone until it is overwritten or the zone is removed.

so what am I supposed to do? Take an image of the secure zone file? Does that work? Or is that an image of an image that can't be viewed?

    Peter Mac,

If you have Acronis Disk Director Suite 10, you could try the suggestion in this thread to make the SZ visible and allow you to copy out the .tib file(s). It would be at your own risk, of course.

I´ve tested the instructions from the link. But I must change type to 0BH - FAT32. And it worked for me! Explorer didn´t display any drive, but in diskmgmt.msc (drive letter was assigned automatically) right-click on Secure Zone Partition - Explorer opened a explorer window. I could copy the tib files to another location, they are mountable and explorable. Also I could change partition back to Acronis secure zone type with Disc Director 10 and it´s recognized from TI 10 and you can mount the images from zone again. :D
