server is not ready to serve?

For informational purposes only and FWIW: I've only received the server error twice, within the past couple of weeks, with no need to d/l manually. (East Coast - USA)

 

I was able to update AVG AS from yesterday, after getting server error for 5 days.

 

The paid version seems to be updating fine. However the free version
does not update at all (xml parser error) on wife's laptop. Last update
was 30/11. Suppose she will have to wait till 'beginning next week' as
forecast by peter.ewido.
According to AVG site manually downloading the latest definitions files
is only reserved for the priveleged AVG Anti-Virus folks. OR am I mistaken ?

Thank you peter. Have updated my wife's free version with the full database
of signatures, from the ewido site. (Is it not possible to move this download
facility to Grisoft's site ?)
By the way I also had the xml parser error with the paid version from time to time in addition to the server is not ready to serve message. This was only recently until about 3 days ago when updates worked perfectly.
After updating the free versions sig. database and then checking for updates, there is now a 'no updates available' message, so things might be OK now. Will monitor.

 

Have the paid version,still doing manual updates most of the time lately.Last auto update 12-4-06.
