USA still the best. But barely.
Paragon is my choice for imaging software.

But I'm stuck on MigrateEasy for cloning.

    Btw OP thanks.

    I'm curious (forgive me!)
Are there any functional differences between the free Paragon Drive Backup 8 Special Edition and the Paragon Drive Backup 8 Personal Edition?

It seems that Differential Backup is missing, for example...

Looks nice, but where can I get the serialkey? Btw, I already downloaded the older version but I never really tested it, but Paragon can be trusted I guess? Because I´ve read Acronis TI can cause serious problems. Or is this kind of software always risky to install?

During install you have to provide an email adres where the key will be sent, mail arrives few seconds later.

    It works well.

    Pro's:
No services in the background running.
Restore from image is straight forward, a reboot is performed when you restore to the system partition.
    No MBR code required.

    Con's:
Not possible to create an image in offline mode (from bootable CD), Rescue CD can only restore from images.

I got the ver. 8 se and performed a back up to DVD's and it worked flawless not like another back up app I won't mention. So far I really like the Paragon software. I know I have already uninstalled the other junk backup app (TI) as it was very unreliable. I think Paragon got it right.:thumb:

    Thanks for the info.

I, too, like Paragon. I've used an older version partition manager and found it excellent.

Aaarrrghhh!...and double Arrrggghhh!......Whilst trying to be cleverer than my brain can keep up with...I have uninstalled the Lovely Freebie Paragon 8...on the assumption it would still be at 'Computeractive' for reinstall....Well it isn't!!...looks like the Site has closed up shop.....o_O :(

Did anyone come across an alternative Site whereby I can STILL Download Paragon 8 Freebie again, Please....

Mmmm?...Didn't take me long to come up with a problem......Just been through the Paragon Backup Wizard to back up the HDD...selecting to backup to DVDs.....but at the end of the Wizard I get the attached message but NO opportunity to copy to DVD??..........Ergo no Backup!!??.....

Am I doing something wrong?...I had no trouble when I was using 'Exact Image 7'......Wish I'd kept it now, instead of deleting in favour of '8'...

Cheers, Cochise....Smilin' through the tears in Seattle..
