how about a change to the licences so that companies who use the enterprise versions also automatically get extra licence's so that the staff can install NOD on their home pc's (a la sophos).

Make the layout and options so that even the average Joe doesn't have to look at guides to help you make the program work a little easier, PLEASE!

I had a go with a "hand made" BartPE + NOD plugin, and I could CD boot and launch NOD. The disk scan works but it misses the memory scan 'cause the kernel driver isn't loaded..... not a big issue if the CD boot files are clean.

Nevertheless I'd like to suggest (if Eset will ever go for a CD rescue disk approach) to enable scan inside .pst (Outlook) and outlook express data files alà Kaspersky

    update

Wouldnt it be nice if you could update virus definitions, without having internet conection? (Download exe files and run them in the computer with no internet)

So you think that ESET should make
    a NOD32 Professional Edition?

    Cheers :)

I hope the new GUI doesn't mean slower performance!

Well , although late I tested the BETA version . Installed it and then got the new on-demands scanner mentioned in a sticky post by Marcos in the beta forum .

It run ligher than 2.5 on my PC . Version 2.5 (nodkrn.exe) takes about 20 mb ram on XP SP1 , version 2.7 (nodkrn.exe) takes about 16 mb ram on Windows XP1 .

The on-demand scanner (with anti-stealth enabled) scanned the whole drive ~100 seconds faster than 2.5 on that XP SP1 machine :)

Tested with Eicar test file , detected and eliminated successfully . Updated successfully . So far , no problems at all . :thumb:

    Howdy.

As a follow up to my post re Email footers I'd like to see the ability to customise the NOD32 tag. At the moment I have the tag turned off. The benefits for a small business would be more than simply cusomising the anti-virus message, I could add other text as well ie if you receive this email in error....

    Cheers

    Hi,

i think there should be similar technology to kaspersky's advanced disnfention technology. for better cleaning and removal of all threats.

    Remote Admin: Multiple License FIles

In Remote Admin, there needs to be an easier way of adding one or two users to an existing license. Ideally, one should be able to load many license files, with the licensed quantity adding to the total. Each license may also have a different expiration date.

While we're at it, there needs to be an easier way to add users to an existing contract, prorating the cost of their addition so that all licenses expire at the same time.

This is at the total discretion of the Distributor, I don't know too many other software developers that allow the end user to do this.

    Cheers :D

If you can make the product easier to use for the non-techies, and still keep it flexible and as good as it already is, I think more people looking for a-v would buy it.

I haven't read this entire thread and I'm sure this feature has been mentioned before, but I'll go ahead and rehash it :)

When the Nod32 manual scan is complete and it tells you that it found multiple threats and was able to clean most, but not all of them, it would be a great help if it listed the ones it couldn't clean.

Right now, I look for every file that the scan mentions and manually delete them if they are still present.

I had thought that maybe it was the ones in red that it didn't take care of, but that didn't prove to be the case. It's very possible that I am missing something I should look for when the scan finishes, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Include Virus detect/clean for PALM OS PDAs, standalone or connected to PC (as Norton already does! ). Idem for PocketPC PDA's.

    Hi all.

I hope I haven't missed these in the manuals but..

A couple of things I'd like to see are:

    1. Installation: If the installer detects a newer virus definition, don't display the "the virus signature database version being installed is older than that already installed... ", either just don't overwrite the newer definition file or, preferrably, give the installer the option to overwrite.

    2. Remote Admin Console. Display the major/minor version of nod as well as the virus signature version. This would allow admins to see which workstations are still running an older version. It would help greatly with mobile users.

    Cheers

Does anyone know of what changes were made to the config.xml file or editor in the new 2.7 release?

Support for the new features, such as potentially unwanted app and anti-stealth.
