I have a problem to update Nod (paid version not trial), I've the database version 1.1859 and no update to 1860.
I try manual update an Nod says "Your version of Nod 32 is up to date. No update neccesary"

Y try with many servers and again No update neccesary.

    What is the problem?

Yes that is true. But after some problems with the updates in the past one gets very susceptible.

I got the usual Threat Alert email, timed at 15:13 GMT, advising me that 1860 had been issued. My attempt at a manual update got the ' you are up to date' message (which has happened before), so I got on with something else and then went offline.

As soon as I signed on again, just after 17:00, the update was offered and downloaded without problems, if slowly, because I am on dialup. No need to panic, just allow time for the update servers to get their act together.

trial versions update from a DIFFERENT set of update servers - these often get their updates a short while AFTER the full version updates go out. A delayed update for trial users is NORMAL - and keep on hitting your update button will not help if the servers you're polling for update information have not been updated by Eset - as someone else mentioned, a modicum of patience is the answer when you're on the trial... buy a license and get your updates as soon as anyone else!

    Full licenses here too.
I assume that the size of the update has slowed the overall peformance of the servers.

May be but why it says
"Your version of Nod 32 is up to date. No update neccesary"
That's not true. My version was not up to date at that moment. A new update was released and I couldn't download even in manual update.

I had the same problem some time ago and there are several threads on it.
But with the new servers all was great again until today when I too could not get the update automatically, had to do the manual bit.
My second PC is still on 1859 and waiting its turn.
    :(

    guilijan,

Hard to remember now, but I think I got it via the UK reseller when I first registered my purchase. The emails definitely come from an 'eset.co.uk' mail address.

    The emails show the same content that you see on the 'virus radar online' page at eset, plus details of the number, time of issue and content of the latest updates as per this example;

"This page contains analysis of e-mail virus threats.

    That's not my question.
I understand that it's possible to wait same time to update but the question is, again,
    why it says
"Your version of Nod 32 is up to date. No update neccesary"
That's not true. My version was not up to date at that moment. A new update was released and I couldn't download even in manual update.

And Togg thank you for your answer.

Because the update hadn't propagate to all update servers.

Just because you can see a new update on that site doesn't mean that all update servers have it at that exact time.

Ok Stan999 but I assume that if a new update is in the oficial ESET web page, it must be available to download.
Muy be ESET must update it's servers first to put the update in the ofical web page.

The OP said they were on a trial.

Your delay could be several reasons..

    1. the updates may not be hitting all eset servers at the same time
    2. load issues related to the large size of the update.

Every time there is a large update, some folks wait a little longer. Even with the new servers it seem that this is the case, so I'm leaning towards number 1 as the may answer - but perhaps Marcos or someone else within Eset can comment from what they know - rather than my speculation - because I don't have access to the update servers' backend - so I'm not 100% sure on the cause.

    hth
