There are many different processes of the svchosts running, but the one taking up the most memory is one of the 3 system svchost.exe. Every other one is at 1 meg to 2 megs. But the one system svchost.exe is taking up 85 megs in the memory and 123 megs on the virtual memory. Anyone know what the situation may be because i cant seem to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Strange, but first of all is to say that all svchost.exe processes have to be started from services.exe.
Can you tell us whith wich parameter this ram-monster svchoste.exe is started? If you have Process-Explorer (freeware) from Sysyinternal double klick the process and look in the tab 'Image' -> Command line.

This is what i found on the command line for the ram eater:

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs

    Does that help?

Hm, strange. This is a essential service for automatic distribution of events to subscribing COM components.
Please check if the RPC service is started, which is needed by your mem eater.

That would be quite difficult. On this stand-alone, single user pc which ive squeezed and tweaked, I startup with 14 processes, and only 2 svchost.exes (11 services). On my other box, its a whole lot more than that. Depends on how you use your pc, pretty hard for me to tell you to disable this or disable that.
