Those who have experienced the following issues, please install the fixes and report your findings to beta27[@]eset.com

    1. An issue with the on-demand scanner closing automatically during a scan

    Solution:
    - download the file http://eset.zftp.com/support/nod32.exe
    - replace the file program files\eset\nod32.exe with the downloaded file

    2. An issue with the scheduler and other system tools utilizing it (e.g. Disk defragmenter) in Windows Vista (fix available for 32-bit Vista)

    Solution:
    - download the file http://eset.zftp.com/support/imon.dll
    - rename imon.dll in the Windows\system32 folder
    - copy the downloaded imon.dll instead
    - restart the computer

Scheduler works just fine now in Vista 5744.

Task Scheduler and related tasks works fine now with the new imon.dll but attention: Windows Vista users should apply only the new imon.dll.
Vista users should not replace original beta release version of nod32.exe (2.70.9.0), in Vista you don't have the issue with the on-demand scanner closing automatically during a scan.
This "new" nod32.exe is a old version (2.55.0.65535) and stop working during the scan if applied in Vista.

The Fix for Vista RC2 5744 did not work for me. I have the 64 bit version of Vista. I renamed imon.dll in the Windows\system32 folder and copied over the the downloaded imon.dll into the system 32 folder and restarted my computer. After the reboot lost my network connection and Nod32 was very slow coming up. I check my scheduler which still showed failed. Rebooted again with the same results. The downloaded file was around 360 KBs. Any idea why it does not work?

    Unfortunately, on-demand scanner still shuts when scanning D:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\AppData\Local\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data
    on my HDD.

Sorry, it is a 32-bit version of imon.dll. There will be another beta (RC) available shortly which will fix this issue on 64-bit systems as well.

Yep, for me, both of these issues seem to be resolved with these files.

I know I think upgrade feature in Vista is culprit...

imon.dll worked for me with the defragmenter not starting in Vista.
I have just installed NOD with Vista thanks to this beta as the other AV's I had to use did not impress me. Hoping all goes well with this install of NOD so far it is working apart from the known issue - thanks eset

    Hello,

I've stuck the thread (and will un-stick it when a newer version incorporating these changes is available).

On XP HE SP2 the new nod32.exe fixed my scan issue, which would die after about 10 seconds. That was the only issue I was having with the beta.

    Excellent job. Thanks.
