Aleksander Czarnowski wrote at Virus Bullentin about a vendor who had some serious problems with producing signature updates for its product, and failed to update its scanning engine for as long as two weeks. (Unfortunately it seems that, at the time of writing, the problems have yet to be resolved and updates are still sporadic and infrequent.)

    Whch one is this.

Hi, folks: I found out from its own web site-public information, everyone is entitled to. But I am not quite sure if this one is the same one referred by that contributor in Virus Bullentin. Therefore, I am refrainned from divulging. Sorry, could help more than that.:doubt:

I can confirm that Authentium, Norman, AVAST, F-PROT, KAV, F-Secure, NOD32, BitDefender, Norton, Sophos and McAfee are actively releasing new signature updates during this period.

CA eTrust, TrendMicro, and Panda are out of beta already...

So, Avira, GDATA and Comodo are still in beta testing.....Hm...

For Clamwin, Dr Web and VBA32, I have no idea...

Hi,folks: Just to edit my previous two postings. They did make few recent updates: Oct.16,17 and 23. There was no activities between Sept12 and Oct 16. That could be just temp. . They are working on new beta. I can understand their situations under these unusual circumstances.

Yes, Avira and AVG are releasing signatures every day. I get their signature update e-mails every day. I have forgotten about this. :p

The article was written in Poland and he referred to a local AV company, if that helps.

Arcavir has had such problems in the past. It could also be QuickHeal, though I doubt it...

EDIT: Just found out that Alexander Czarnowski is from Poland, which could mean he was indeed referring to MKS/ArcaVir....
