Back-up magic

I have a new WindowsXPH PC, with O/S on a NTFS partition and data on a FAT32 partition - because I would like to add Linux on an EXT partition later, which could use the same data files. I have just purchased a Seagate External USB HD, which is FAT32 out of the box.

With ATI 9.0, I would like to back-up all partitions to the USB HD using both image and normal file-type modes. Do I have to convert some of the USB HD to NTFS and EXT to enable this to be done? (I do have ADDS 10 as well).

Is it possible to make a complete image back-up, including all three (NTFS, FAT32 and EXT)partitions, in one process? Or will I have to do each file type separately to a matching file-type partition on the USB HD?

Any advice and comments will be appreciated - its hard to run before I can walk...

 

nope, u dont have to format/convert your disk.

yes u can image your entire disk at once.

You are saying that I can simply tell ATI 9.0 to Image all three partitions (FAT32, NTFS and EXT) in one fell swoop?
And it will do it on an external HD that is already formatted as FAT32?

Well ... not so fast with the whoopee. Be sure to test the Recovery on a spare hard drive even if it means buying one. Some people have found out the hard way that their Images do not restore correctly.
