I installed and updated spywareblaster and everything seems fine. Does it need to run in the background? Can it be set to automatically start when booting up?

    Hi Dominic,

No, it doesn't need to be running to protect you, so I guess there is no need for it to startup on boot.
Run it about once a week to check for updates and that's all.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    As said above.

Spyware blaster uses "kill bits" which are written to the registry, therefore as it does not have a "real-time scanner" it does not need to run to protect your PC.

Spyware Guard does need to run in the background as it scans files ("real-time scanning") in the same way as antivirus for any spyware, this needs to be running to scan the files.

But No spyware blaster protects in a diffrent way, so it need'nt be open to protect your PC.
