I recently had a problem with my OS and have put in a new hard drive just for windows... and so spywareblaster was just deleted from the older hard drive since it would not run afterwards. Windows is installed on drive C while I am installing Spywareblaster on drive F; every time I install it now (even after running regcleaner) and try to run it; I get this message -
"Run-time error '339': Component 'MSCOMCTL.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid."

I already downloaded the install app again in case mine had become corrupted... I really love the proggy and wanna use it again - wondered if anyone knew how I could fix this?

Spybot sends a message that they have 'blocked the download of "Avenue A, Inc"1' to my computer. What is it? Are you able to get rid of that for me. I have no idea what they are talking about :)

Avenue A is a tracking cookie - spies on you. I've never seen messages like that from spybot; but I assume it's the immunization feature.

Just to clarify- "spybot; search & destroy" and "spywareblaster" are different programs from different people. Spybot is mostly for cleaning garbage that has been installed while spywareblaster blocks a lot of it - however spybot got the "immunize" feature in the last version update which does some blocking also.

Hey Pieter I only talk to myself when you don;t give me enough attention

    Hey Detox,

You were too fast for me solving it yourself.

    judybrooks,

Installing SpywareBlaster will help you get rid of those warnings if and only if you are using IE6. (The blocking of cookies does not work for other browsers)

    Regards,

    Pieter

So ok now I understand what kinda msg judybrooks is talking about - I never had those because by the time I got my Spybot updated I already had Spywareblaster and IE6.

Yes spybot displays that message as download blocking must be enabled.

You can set it not to display the message in options for immunise.
