Yep, it was posted in a thread in this forum.
    -----------------------------------------------------

I read in the the NOD 2 section of a 2.51.30 version & there is "confusion" on this there.

geircito mentions this version in his started post in this thread on Sept. 19th.
    "3.Install NOD32 2.51.30 manually
    Doubleclick the installer file "nentenst.exe".
Extract the files to the default folder ("C:\Program Files\ESET\Install")."

I followed the Softpedia link in tommy's post in Section 2 and got 2.51.30 just now.
    Here it is.

the website users this for the header = NOD32 Antivirus System 2000/2003/XP/x64 2.51.30

    http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/NOD.shtml

I got it and installed it in vista, it almost works, it's just a matter of getting the CCentre to startup,
I think it's my fault in that I'm doing something wrong.
the other part of NOD32 runs and works great.
I'm nearly there, and it installed no problems at all.

    Edit,
I just can't get the CCentre to run automatically, The command prompy window is open, I exit it, I run The CCentre from a shortcut I placed on the desktop then I have to start Amon in the CCentre.
the other part of Nod works OK.

NOD32 2.51.30 installed and running (AMON, IMON, DMON, EMON) just fine under RC2 (build 5744).

Also the the on-demand scanner (nod32.exe) is working as it should.

    :)

No, no... I didn't mean that...

Before following the installation procedure in my first post in this thread you need to make one adjustment prior to start installation. That's because Vista build 5744 has compatibility issues with NOD32 and will block the installation.

You have to disable "Application Compatibility Engine" in Group Policy.

Use WinKey+R to start the run command, type 'gpedit.msc' and hit enter.
Open the following key: "Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Application Compatibility". Double-click the "Turn Off Application Compatibility Engine" and choose "Enabled".
Close Group Policy (you don't need to restart the computer).

After installing NOD32 (as in my first post) you can enable the "Application Compatibility Engine" again, but if you do, the on-demand scanner doesn't work...

Disabling "Application Compatibility Engine" (ACI) in Group Policy made me think a little,
and after disabling ACI I tried to install NOD32 as usual (using Expert Installation).

And...what happend? - NOD32 startet and acted just as in Windows XP...

I have made a new how2 thread about this here:
