I'm a bit new to computors (two years) so please bear with me just a bit.

Thought I saw a step by step instruction string somewhere on this but cannot now find it.

Want to use fast delete method that I beleive I first was set up to use instead of the "secure delete method" that comes up in the "Cleaning IE Temporary Internet Files" when those MRU's are detected. Takes so long and in using a win98 program I use MRU deletions to help speed up my loading and such. If every time I have a MRU show up that slows my loading down and I need to use the long-time consuming "secure delete method", that often takes longer than it eventually takes to load the IE page.

Anyone know how to get to and how to change to the fast method (or other pertinent info)?

    Sure appreciate your help.

    Thanks, Diligent.:shifty: :doubt:

    Hello Diligent....Welcome to Wilders,

As for your question I believe I know what you are asking but Please do correct me if wrong since it's been awhile :doubt:

If you open MRU-Blaster....select Settings....then select Go to Plugins....then select IE Temporary Internet File Cleaner....is that the area you are speaking of concerning the Secure File Shredding ?

Thanks for the reply Bubba. Aswer is no. When I engage the mru blaster (only) manually so it then scans, the scanner works fasts and lists from 2 to 9 (avg. 4-6) hits, then when I remove them is when the long secure methods starts working.

I saw, somewhere, (I thought) a step by step discription of how to do everything reagarding mru's but cant find it now if it exists. Anyway, hope you got the idea now.

Thanks, Diligent (my name is Jim..Diligent Inquirer is a name of a trust)

    Hey bubba.

Thanks to your basic intuition, the prob is (I thinks) solved.

On my (win9:cool: taskbar "mrue balster" was listed, along with mru scedular. I thought this was normal. It was not. Somehow, Mru blaster wound up continuing to run that slowed my shole system down (RA usuage). Gone now so no prob.

In addition the reference that I made to the "secure" method versus the fast one was completely my err. This difference was solely on the Ccleaner prog. (Ok on .dat but little more).

Anyway, your experienced observation was very helpful so I thank you.

    My Best, Diligent. 1/

1/ remeber the taskmanager running (loaded) mru blast, for refernce though. Quite a problem for me. Maybe others too:) somtime).
