Does anyone know the about:config entry to turn this thing back on? I did the infamous PCflank browser security test and failed the privacy part and was instructed to turn the redirector off. Now, many many massage boards no worky :D Thanks

How did you turn it off? Does the screenshot show what you modified?

That screenshot is from about:config. Is that entry in your about:config?

Ok, my bad! No that is not the entry; the entry I changed went from 2 to 0. It was to turn the redirector off entirely.

If the entry in the screenshot is in your about:config file, what value does it show?

Find the referrer line in about:config, double click the line, and change the value.

OK, I got it!!! Thanks a lot for the help though ronjor. Regarding the PC Flank test; is this a major privacy concern to have it on?

It's just another way to track your travels on the Internet. As you found, some really want to know where you're coming from.
Most browsers have a way to disable sending that info.

    Hi Lamehand,

I believe the extension is: Redirect Remover 1.1

If I am thinking of the same thing, there is also an extension called RefControl. I use it and it works well. Can be set on an site by site basis.
