Acronis TI - Is It Possible...!!!

Hi everyone...!!!

Scenario:

I am having one Hard Disk of say 200 GB with three partitions 20 GB; 40GB; and 140 GB Balance.
There is a huge amount of valuable data (only) of somehwhat say 70 GB on 3rd partition of 140 GB.
I want to move (transfer - not back up) this 70 GB of voluminous data from this 3rd partition to another Hard disk of 160 GB where there is already data of 30 GB.
I dont want to do CUT - PASTE...(bcz long file names are not copied and if there is a problem in copying at any stage the entire copying procedure stops in between and then its difficult to track in thousands of folders and files what has been copied and what not)

I cannot clone as in that case destination data of 30 GB will be lost...whereas my goal is to add 70 GB of data from partition 3 of hard disk one to already existing 30 GB data of hard disk 2...without destroying data in hard disk 2 (which would happen in cloning or image recovery)

Question:

It seems in Acronis TI we can clone but cannot move data as such from one partition to another partition under such above circumstances...

Request:

Can i request all cloning / backup experts enthusiasts to plz suggest me some way / idea / software / trick/ mechanism so that i can freely move large amount of data - be it transfer or copying from one partition to another partition of same hard disk or another hard disk.... (without manually copying files/folders)

I hope I have been able to explain my situation clearly and hence would urge plz plz to put forward valuable suggestions and replies....

I would just like to add one more thing...

Is it like that am i right in saying that -

What I am looking for is purely "File Backup" whereas Acronis is always "System Backup (which includes filebackup as well)"

 

Yes, you can copy Files and Folders, using Acronis TI. But, there are issues. TI works best, in my experience, doing Drive/Partition Imaging and Restoration. That said, TI does offer Files and Folders Backup & Restoration.

Some of us have reported problems restoring Files and Folders using TI Boot mode when restoring to a new location on an NTFS drive. I have had good results when restoring Files and Folders with TI running under Windows XP. The best way to find out, with this, and other processes, is to try it out on your system(s). Then check the results carefully.

If you use an external HD (USB...) you could create a TI Files & Folders Backup of the selected data on your source destination, then connect the ext HD to your source computer, and, if you also have TI installed there, restore the Files to any location you choose. They will show up as a new directory, such as "Drive (D)."

Some have encountered issues with permissions, so, you may do best if when you create the Backup, under Options, you set TI to Not Preserve Files' Security Settings in Archives, and the same on Restoration. You may still need to take ownership of the new files...other threads can help with details on this.

I was also having one more q....

why Acronis home edition is having option for "Backing up files and folders" but why NOT the Server edition is having such important option of having to "Back up files and folders"........
