AVK 2007 is currently in beta.

It is using the engine of Kaspersky & AVAST instead of Kaspersky & BitDefender.

Anyone is participating in the beta?

Interesting to watch whether AVK2007 will perform as well as AVK2006 at www.av-comparatives.org

The below is translated from German:

    New features:
    - 64-Bit ability (Windows XP x64)
    - Instant measuringclose protection (AOL AIM/Microsoft measuringclose/Trillian)
    - Registry monitoring
    - Monitoring of the host file (C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts)
    - Monitoring of the autostarting files
    - Virus updates from the Tray out
    - On-Demand-Scan: Break function
    - On-Demand-Scan: Computer can switch itself off automatically after on-Demand-Scan (e.g. if one liked at night scanning)
    - new virus engines of AVAST => still better Erkennungsraten
    - new surface

    It is available.
It's a bit lighter than 2006 but still pretty heavy on resources. And I really hate the AntiSpam which is still not working.

In my experience this is not the dual engine, but the web scanner, which is slowing down the computer (memory leaks, permanent run, etc). I've disabled it few months ago, and Avk is running fine since  - not the lightest, but not the most heavy either with this setup.
