Thanks. I installed Firefox v1.5.0.6 via "Help/Check for Updates" and the split of Firefox over system partition [C:] and data partition [D:] didn't cause any problems as usual.
Firefox + 6 extensions opens in 2 seconds and uses about 26000K memory. :)

Firefox + 29 extensions & 3 tabs open about 43000K here. No complaints. Though my launch time is a little slower. Is yours natural or is there a tweak I missed?

No tweaking here. Maybe 29 extensions would make my launch time also slower. :D
I admit, I still have to study Firefox in detail. So far I only improved the security of Firefox and moved the folder profiles to my data partition.
I still have to read all these extensions and alot of other stuff about Firefox.

When I first started using FF I did not have a clue what an extension was. Then I started having thoughts about "It sure would be nice if FF could do XXX or XXXX. That is when I discovered extensions. I`v never looked back. :D

I have read several different theorys on the cause of the memory leak. Some say it has to do with particular extensions. How ever no one to my knowledge has ever taken the time to prove or disprove this theory. I wonder if it is not a hardware issue. Processor type.......memory type.....or a combination of any\all the above.

I'm impressed with Opera 9x. Have moved to Opera due to overhead of having firefox and thunderbird running at all times. Opera is simply lighter than the two. The New features are quite impressive as well: Feature Link- http://www.opera.com/products/desktop/

The built in widgets are quite extra cool too. Like the stay secure widget, that loads security status for popular browsers, from Secunia

The more extensions and themes, more is the load time. Without any extensions or themes, FF loads in a flash.

Understood, and not really complaining. When I first started using FF, 1.4. x.x I think. It loaded extremly slow with zero extensions. Even with my 29 extensions, load time is faster and very acceptable, IMO.
