So it seams to work with all international versions. Good news.
Germans give away nice free licenses :) In February there was a one year free licens for NOD32 in an other Computer newspaper available. Don't remember which one it was. Each one i find, and fits to Wilders theme, i will post here.

By the way, posting these free licenses from _German_ Computer newspapers to a international comunity like Wilders who don't bought this newspaper, is legal?

Works fine with both Russian and English version. I like to point out that everyone receives the same product key so no need to sign up more then once ;)

I did asked a marketing director a few month ago about a one-year-free application (not antivirus) and he didn't like it at all publishing here at Wilders, so I didn't publish.

    His answer:

I only answered Tommy's question with an experience I had about a similar issue.
I can not answer your question.

While I must say that this is pretty much a 'grey area' IMO; from what I gather, the CHIP offer was geared towards a specific audience, which means you may have trouble with sales/support/renewal issues since the Wilders' community is not part of that specific audience.

mm...there is something fishy here. o_O I completed the form and I'll try to see if it works. But to be sure I will use it only for on-demand scanning. :)

Nothing Fishy....!!! You get an email with the key and when downloading the trial, you'll get an email again with the download link. No more....no less and sure not fishy!! Have fun! ;)

I still don't know if I will use it, but I've got it now.

Last time I tried FS it was too heavy on my test computer, and the number of background processes was 17; quite a lot  .

As for the "ethical" issue, well, if CHIP really wanted it to be only for its readers, it would have been posted in the magazine only o_O .

Thanks to the OP ! ;)

Nobody is forcing you to use it and I fully agree about the large number of processes, but I must say....it runs unexpectedly light!

My friend also got the same license key as I got in my mail. It seems they just use one license key for this promotion that will end at 15 Jul 2007.

Number of processes doesn't mean a thing if they all have little footprint. Plus most of programs use shjared memory space so even if task manager shows enormous memory usage, that doesn't mean it's actually using that much memory.

Really? Well, my test compuetr is quite an old laptop (P4 2,4 512 Mo Ram), 3 years old, it was slowed down to a crawl on this one. But I'm sure it runs lighter on a more recent box.

It think I'll use it to replace my AVK 2006 that I run on a more powerful computer, once it is expired (soon, 1 or 2 months I think) ;)

Well, that's the same old story again......no AV scanner will run the same on any system. I have had F-secure on my system before and it slowed it down very badly, but this version is ok.
Same with Kav2006 on my sytem, I can't get it to run properly.....just crawling along.

Amd Athlon XP 1800+, Win XP Home + Sp2, 512 Mb Ram.

Runs great so far and i like it. Very good interface, well organized and nicely designed. Light blue colors also make it very eyes friendly.
Good thing is also included adware/spyware detection and rootkit detection which is not found in many AV products (at all).
Processes number is really astronomical, but i don't feel the impact of F-Secure AV and processes are named similar way so it's still easy to sort and manage processes without major problems.
I'll certanly keep it for some time :)

So do I download the internet suite, or just the antivirus trial for this key to work?
