well it has yet to be on the rogue antispyware list if it was fake.

ive tried it and i like it very much. my system was clean so it didnt find anything but supposedly, its very good at detecting and cleaning up malware.

for the pro version, its realtime component is much lighter than spy sweeper, counterspy, and maybe ewido (or just a tie).

it is very configurable tho the free version does have some unchangeable options like teh splashscreen.

It's by far NOT a fake program. It's easy to use and filled with goodies. Just try it, like I and others are doing.

SAS is the anti-spyware program that I have settled on. I have tried all the major ones, but like SAS better than any. It is light, runs well, no conflicts, and I have high confidence in its detection and removal capabilities.

It goes well with KAV6, Ewido Plus, Win Patrol Plus, UnHackMe, Snoopfree, and LooknStop.

    Best,
    Jerry

After using the trial version of SAS 3.2 for a few days, I had decided to buy a SAS home license. To my surprise, it came with a free license for SuperADBlocker 4.0. Also, there was a choice to buy lifetime subscription at $9.95 (while annual subscription will cost about $14). Best of all, the above rebate code can still apply to both. I just wish SAS has more frequent malware defintion updates.

If you buy a bundle for SuperAntiSpyware and SuperADBlocker, the additional USD9.95 for life-time license would apply to BOTH SuperAntiSpyware and SuperADBlocker. After purchase, only the life-time license code for SuperAntiSpyware will be shown. You need to raise a ticket to support to request for a life-time code for SuperADBlocker.

I bought SuperAntiSpyware a few days ago, for basically the same reasons that JerryM mentioned a few posts up, and for the deal -- got an additional license for a second computer for 9.95 and lifetime subscription for 9.95 and 15% off everything with the DOZLENG coupon code. It runs light & easy on both computers -- and such a bargain!

That is what I did also. It is a great deal in my opinion. Lifetime licenses are great, and I got the lifetime Ewido license when it was available. I think it was in the mid $40s. The only thing that I have to renew is the AV.

    Best,
    Jerry

Hi, folks: I have been using this great app since its debut. Nick from Superantispyware has been around this forum interacting w/ viewers extensively. It is very remarkable approach from any perspective. I am considering to purchsing 2 lifetime liceses, but w/ a bit reservation: Folks, do still remember that Giant antispyware? The official rep came this forum minggling w/ folks and was able to drum up a good deal of support and recognition. I was so convinced and bought a full ticket. Guess what had happerned right after? It sold to MS with my investment, and it therefore was turned into a rag(majority has spoken out this way). Nick, can I ask a kind question? Can you tell me and your vast supporters that you will not take the very same route in the foreseeable future? please.

Good and reputable softare are usually the target of a takeover because it is a strong rival. Ewido was good but it is now part of Grisoft :'( . In 199X, Dr Solomon's AVTK was an excellent AV at that time, and McAfee took over it in 1998 :'( . Somtimes, business decision prevail.

The splash screen can only be disabled in the Professional Edition.

Thanks for your question, and I understand your concern. Our plan is to keep supporting and updating SUPERAntiSpyware as we have been. I frequent the forums/groups as I like to stay in touch with our users as that is for who we are creating the product.

And this thread shows over and over again how great the company and the softeware is. I wish we saw this more from others!

I'm using both programs now too. And with Ewido having higher numbers I still think that SAS and the AdBlocker are doing a better job...weird? :)

Thank you and the other members for your support! The whole "higher numbers" thing is hard to quantify - meaning - we each count our definitions differently. Some of our single defintions remove over 100 variants, but we count that as a single definition. I think the bottom line is how the software cleans the machine from HARMFUL items, not just errant registry keys and data files.

Thanks Nick. I noticed this morning that the malware definitions had been updated to Core : 3034 Trace : 1096. I had also opened a support ticket about the infinite loop problem when scanning directories/filenames with Unicode characters in them and hopefully it would be resolved in a future SAS update.

The unicode characters don't seem to be the issue - we have been unable to reproduce the problem here and have not had other reports, but we are looking to see if we can find out why that happened on your system.

I have been using SuperAntiSpyware to scan my folder with files with Chinese filenames, but they are all displayed correctly.

Doesn't take much to be lighter than Spy Sweeper's new v5.0.

I was a bit disapointed to discover this program will only scan under an administrator account.

Not much use on my kids PCs that run under limited accounts!

Anyone know if this is just a restriction on the free version? I couldn't see anything about it on their website.
