    Hello,

I recently purchased Acronis True Image 9.

I was wondering if there was some way to image and/or back-up the MBR without taking an image of the whole hard disk?

    Thanks,

No it can't be saved individually but you can image a single partition and it will save the MBR which can be restored separately.

Is the ability to save and restore the MBR a feature of TrueImage 9 only? I'm using TrueImage 8 and don't remember an option to restore the MBR.

I recall that the mbr would only be restored if you did a whole disk image in 8 (and I don't think it could restore separately) but TI 9 Home (3657 and greater?) allows it with imaging individual partitions as well a mbr restore.

Thanks Mem! That's a small but valuable feature. Perhaps it's time to upgrade.
