Hm...I think they need to give some information on the version number and the history of changes of CyberHawk so that new users can keep track of the changes to the releases. They even don't update the press release page. :(

    Hi,
Before installing this new non-beta release (more agressive than the previous ones), it is STRONGLY advised to quit or disable ALL your resident realtime security applications, including anti-virus and firewall. I noticed that once the installation is completed, security protocols in MSDTC are off or disabled (set to zero).
    Cheers,
    Hervé

And what does this program do that Ewido & Spysweeper does not?

This is the first time I've heard of it.

This program has caused computer instability for some users. Check THIS BetaFiles web page, and click "View All Reviews" (it's right under the screenshot).

Hi, folks: Guess what is happening? v.1.1.2.2. just released! Try @ majorgeeks.com. A lighting speed upgrading indeed. Is it still compatible with KAV 6?

I tried to use the same download link for 1.1.0.04 to download 1.1.1.3 (not from download.com) and it is also at version 1.1.1.3.
I think 1.1.1.3 is the official released version.

Hi, folks: I had a very bad encounter w/ beta version earlier. W/ this version, i just d/l and install w/o turning off any security app equipped w/ real time scanner (such as outpost, KAV6, ewido plus, blackice and winpatrol plus). Perhaps a little surprise, so far so good, but time will tell.

I'd like to see more testing and even more technical data. I've been down this path before. If this is so good why is it free. I'm willing to pay for good. Novatix are the fine folks that brought us ExplorerPlus (the fraternal twin of PowerDesk) file manager. Were they recently purchased and is that why they've now become security experts? I wonder. Even if it's free, still caveat emptor.

Is my face red! After running this program for a while, I have to say it's no keeper. Without going into detail, it reminded me of a sociopathic Prevx. Uninstallation therapy was indicated and performed. :p

I have (more than) enough experience to know better than to jump on the "whoopee" bandwagon too soon. I shan't do it again with anything!

Well it's running fine at the moment, the noticeable difference between the previous release is that you now have to be part of the (Cyberhawk) community if you want updates.

I still aint 100% sure how this works (white/black lists?, updates etc), but it isn't obtrusive in any way at the moment, nor is it causing any cpu spikes.

So I'll keep it until I learn of any reason to the contrary.

I believe they are one in the same - but I see the confusion. ExplorerPlus 6 caries the Novatix Corporation label. There is some kind of relationship whatever it be. Incidentally I noted that Cyberhawk's Novatix Corp. was allegedly formed only in 2005. This confusion leaves me a bit uneasy.

    I'll pass, thank you.

I used at least 2 beta versions they both finally expired. Great App IMO.

No conflicts with other protection apps and intercepted intrusions (ALL Forced) even before programs like System Safety Monitor and the like (Launch Monitor).

I only recently returned from a few months of travel and downloaded the latest version but not yet installed it but if it performs as well or better than before then i have no problem trusting my active online units security to it.

I had Cyberhawk installed since ~April. Went through two betas. Quick to respond on system changes, light on resources. All in all an excellent app.
About two weeks ago my machine started acting kinda funky, slow or no response when clicking icon, had to do power re-boots. Did a repair re-install of OS. All seemed OK for that day. Next day, same stuff happened. Had to re-install OS, repair re-install wouldn't work. Corrupt config.sys. This time I left off a few installed security apps. SpyBot S&D, Ad-Aware, A2, SocketShield & Cyberhawk. Friday I decided to try Cyberhawk again. SSM alerted that CH was about to change a file and would have control of my system (sorry don't remember which file) I allowed it. Same O same O, Slow Icon response, required power re-boot...
That was it for Cyberhawk. I'm sure it'sa system dependant thing though since so many people use it w/ no problems whatsoever.

Well then if the latest CyberHawk release is proving out that unstable then they have obviously made some not-so-reliable changes.

Personally my own systems and configs preferred the earlier BETA's without so much as a fuss but reports like the above is definitely cause for serious reservations if stability and problems are that evident.

I'l take a seat to the side and see what others might be finding for the time being. SSM and a few others have things on my end well under control and the last thing anyone needs is some sudden disruption upsetting a trustworthy security balance or worse.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Hi, folks: I have this baby for almost one week, so far so good. As someone has said on another forum, and I quote,"a new kid on the block, the one to watch.".However, One issue makes me very very uneasy , that is, user has to join their community for providing some sort of private info, the trade off is getting its updates. Is this a SAFE exchangeo_O? o_O

Prevx dose much much more than CH. U can add it to Prevx on ur system if ur sytem resources allow.
