    You're welcome ErikAlbert. ;)
The upgrade is free within the version number. You only will have to pay (upgrade) again for version 9. :)
And yes, it's an indispensable tool for me at home and at my work.
The same applies to Camtasia Studio, their other product.

I wished I had SnagIt at work 35 years ago, but I don't do this kind of work anymore where it could have been very usefull.
But at home I still can use it very well. :)

Right. When I was a free lotto player, I earned once $10 with a screenshot of an error in a lotto program.
The free lotto owner was so glad, he paid me $10 via Paypal LOL.
I found alot of other errors in lotto programs, but they never paid me for my efforts, except this one.

    EDIT:
Another story, where a screenshot saved me.
I won $20 with a lotto game, but the program cancelled when I wanted to claim my winnings.
I took screenshots of each window and sent them to the lotto owner by email to prove I won $20 and that their program didn't work.
They paid my winnings via PayPal and I got an email back with alot of apologizes. LOL

Not needed. They can verify the program with a winning ticket and when it cancels, they know that it doesn't work. They also have a log of their game. So they know exactly who won.

Once I won $100, I could prove it with screenshots and they confirmed my winnings by email, but they never paid me and the website disappeared.
About 90% of the free lottos are dishonest and don't pay their winners.
I missed the golden days of the free lotto world and when I joined, it was already dying. Now there are only 10-15 honest free lottos left.
Alot of lotto programs are fixed and you can only win the low prices, but never the big ones. You can't compare these free lottos with official state lotteries. There is no control at all and most drawings are in-house drawings that can be manipulated by the lotto owner.
The lotto owner has all the power and can do what he wants.
The bottom line is, if you win and you get paid, you are LUCKY.
I didn't win much, $91 in total, but some players won $1000 - $3000 and there was one player, who won $100,000 and was paid in 5 x $20000 over several months.
I quit playing, because the prices are ridiculous low and the odds are very bad.

:thumb: Indeed, i use it a lot to provide errors during beta testing or to show forum members how to perform a certain action or to give them clear instructions, which would be too difficult to put in words. :)

At work I use it constantly to make a manual for certain programs and for my webshop as well. Also helps my IT-manager to show the exact error/bug I found.
I especially like the feature to grab pictures from a certain site.
It beats having to rightclick and save every time.

Is SnagIt much different from Screen Rip32 - Screen Capture Utility (By Progency Software)?
Screen Rip32 - Screen Capture Utility (By Progency Software)

I do not have complicated requirements, and have used it for several years. It might not do what many have in mind.

    Regards,

It's seems like a nice free app.
SnagIt isn't free, but does offer a lot of features.
Maybe it offers a bit too much for you, but do have a look at the video tutorials.

It should give you a better idea what you can do with this app. ;)

Yes, a well captured screenshot speaks for itself, much better than describing in words. This is especially useful for novice users to report bugs and findings, as they may report the findings in a layman way that technical support would sometimes find it hard to understand what is going on.

The various types of capturing method (with the countdown mode) makes SnagIt an excellent application.

I currently have version 8.0.2 installed, and when I click on 'Check for Upgrade', it tells me I'm already running the latest version. Isn't this check supposed to pick up the new version on their server?

Yes, it's supposed to give you notice of a new version. Don't know why it doesn't work for you. :doubt:
That's not true, because when I received notice, I clicked 'Check for Upgrade' and immediately it displayed that there was a new version ready for download. :)
