Other web browsers besides Firefox and Opera??

Are there any other recommended browsers besides these two that people here like?
K-Meleon? Maxthon? What others?

A standalone executable, can be placed on a Jump drive. Very light and fast. No Javascript though; but I have Firefox with NoScript and Opera for this. My number 3 browser.

Yes, there are other browsers, but i won't recommend them.
Most of the alternatives are based on the IE-engine, FF and Opera are independendly developed, my motto is stay away from IE.

But others might have a different view on this.
Netscape is also still around, it's also based on gecko, but i wouldn't use it.

Flock, based on Mozila engine, is getting popular, although it is still beta.

 

There are indeed other browsers than Firefox and Opera, but not better browsers than Firefox and Opera.
Other browsers are a waste of time, unless you are investigating browsers in general.

 

Err...You do still have the original Mozilla suite

Anyway, the SeaMonkey Internet Applications Suite (which is actually just the old Mozilla Suite updated and renamed) also has an excellent Internet browser. You can download the setup and install just the web browser if you wish, or have the entire suite.

In my experience, the SeaMonkey browser is noticeably faster than Firefox, and if you use the full suite, the SeaMonkey suite uses less resources than Firefox+Thunderbird combined (again, in my experience).

Since it is again Mozilla code based, it should be just as secure as Firefox. And it is also updated frequently to fix bugs and expolits.

 

What about Avant?

 

I am currently using Opera and I don't like Firefox.
I was just looking into another browser in general, nothing specific just out of curiosity, which ones other than two already mentioned (FF and Opera) are there.

OffByOne browser is out, I tried that a couple of months ago.
I've heard about SeaMonkey and may look into that one but its still a part of Mozilla.

Any more suggestions let me know.

Firefox
Netscape 8
Internet explorer, but Opera is my default and Firefox is my secondary. But Netscape 8 does work well and seems to be a pretty good browser. If you are looking for something different than Opera and Firefox Netscape might be what you are looking for.

Can we run both Firefox and Seamonkey on the same computer?

 

Although I have not tried this, and run only SeaMonkey on my computer, I found this on the Mozilla Website:

Although the information refers to Mozilla, it should be applicable for SeaMonkey as well since SeaMonkey is the successor to Mozilla.

I also recommend setting SeaMonkey to use the "Modern" skin after you have installed it, though the default skin is not bad either.

 

How is Avant?
How is it compared to Maxthon?
Also, I'm not worried about an IE based engine if anyone would like to know.
Just asking in general between the two.

 

Not used it except for few days. May be some user can tell anout it.

 

K-Meleon also uses the Gecko engine (as do Mozilla, Sea Monkey, Netscape, Firefox etc). K-meleon is somewhat faster than the other Gecko-based browsers.

For a minimalist K-Meleon, try the speed-configured K-Ninja Samurai. It smokes the others. Sexy skins, too.

A vote to the IE-based Maxathon here.

Why?
It looks pretty.

Oh, and it's easier to turn off ActiveX,scripts,images,sounds,videos, etc than any other browser. Just choose an option from the drop down menu under DownloadControl.

 

Even easier than Opera? "Press F12 and just check/ uncheck as u like"

 

Well, I guess. Mine is a big button at the top of my screen next to the reload button. So it's about as easy as easy can get.

 

THERE ARE BROWSERS, AND THEN THERE IS OPERA. THERE IS OPERA AND THERE IS NO OTHER. FORWARD/BACKWARD MOUSE GESTURES, SO MANYYY SKINS TO CHOOSE, NO ACTIVE X, NO FLASH PLAYER IF YOU DON'T WANT, THIS MEANS BUKU SECURITY. LOOK MAN JUST CHECK SECURITYFOCUS.COM UNDER VULNERABILITIES, LOOK AT OPERA 9. FIREFOX IS BETTER THAN IE BUT IT STILL HAS ALMOST AS MANY EXPLOITS COMING OUT EVEN IF THEY ARE PATCHED QUICKER THAN IE. I LIVE, EAT, SLEEP, AND BREATHE OPERA CUZ.

 

The only thing I don't like about it that you only can use capitols.

Awant Browser is based on IE and comes with Pop-up blocker and some good added features.
A nice change for IE users.
