hi, this PC has a two button mouse!

normally when i want to open a new page, on other PCs, i open a new tab by middle-clicking the link. with this two button affair i have to right-click on the link then select 'Open Link in New Tab'

does anyone here have a two button mouse too? is there an easier/quicker way to open a new page in a new tab? i'm hoping for an extension that will do it by using both buttons at the same time  thanks

i suggest u give the Mouse Gestures extensions a try.

with it, u can setup a button combination or gesture to open the link in a new tab or anything else too.

If I am understanding....You have a normal 2 button mouse that is set to Right handed configuration which makes the right button for Context Menu's ?

Does the left button not perform Normal Select functions ?

Perhaps this is Firefox specific issue....in which case I'll defer to our Firefox users.

i just remembered i installed easyGestures the other day, i'll have to have a look at it. it's the same kind of thing isn't it?

    yes
yes, the left button will open a window, i suppose like IE, but the new page will open in the same tab rather then opening a new tab. i want to be able to go back and forth by click on the tabs instead of the backward and forward buttons.

Hi, No need for new mouse at all, no new extension plz, ur fox might be bulky already!

Ctrl+ Left Click on link- open page in new tab in background
Ctrl+Shift+Left click on link- open page in new tab in foreground

( there are many more key board short cuts- u need to read them from their site/ forums)
Above shotcuts are a bit different in Opera.

I just started using it yesterday. I needed a change. There's also a skin for Gmail. It puts all the controls on top instead of the side. Has color options too :)
