    Perusing the web and found this interesting site on darwin awards:

    Though, I thought most states observed ordinances where a vehicle must have a red flag attached to anything beyond the bumper of a vehicle, nor can there be any permanent obstructions protrude beyond the bumper.

    Although a nice concept on a beetle.

    In California, I believe that you are required to have a red flag on anything that protrudes more than 18" beyond the "factory" rear of the vehicle (which his engine DEFINITELY does). And if I remember correctly, 16" is the max. protrusion for any permanently affixed item. So who knows how he managed to get it street-legal!? Very impressive project!

    I wonder if his wife is going to be the one to ride that scooter?:D
