I loaded 3633 the other day. According to the help file under the sub-title Event Tracing:

    =========================
    Windows Event log

If you have got used to examine logs with Windows Event Viewer you can enable saving Acronis True Image Home event messages to Windows Event Log (to see this log, run eventvwr.exe or select Control Panel -> Administrative tools -> Event Viewer).

To save Acronis True Image Home event messages to Windows Event Log:
Select Save messages option and choose on of the following:
− All events all events (information, warnings and error messages) will be recorded to the Windows Event Log
− Warnings and errors warnings and error messages will be recorded to the Windows Event Log
− Errors only only error messages will be recorded to the Windows Event Log

    See also:
    SNMP notifications
    =============================

I can not find this "Save messages option" anywhere. Where is it?

So no one knows the answer to this seemingly simple question?

    Hello ibeme99,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please note that Windows Event log option is available for Corporate versions of Acronis True Image only.
You can find this option on the Backup Creation option window during an image creation.

Please take a look at the attached screen shot.

    windows event log1.jpg

You can find more information on how to use Acronis True Image in the respective User's Guide.

If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.

    Thank you.

Above is a screenshot from the help file. Did you forget to include the code in the latest version? Or did you mix up the help files for the Corporate and Home versions?

<snip> When will this functionality be available in TI Homeo_O??

    Hello ibeme99 and TheWeaz,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Please note that, as Tatyana said above, Windows Event log option is available for Corporate versions of Acronis True Image only, as well as SNMP notifications. I am afraid that this information was included into Help file of Acronis True Image 9.0 Home by mistake. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience. I have forwarded this issue to appropriate person. The help file of Acronis True Image 9.0 Home will be corrected in one of the next build of the program.

    Thank you.

Just a note why this functionality is important to me and why I keep fighting for it.

I use a program called Event Sentry (both Pro & Lite (free) versions available here: http://www.eventsentry.com/ ) to pump any system and program event errors via SMTP into my Outlook email, which is open and running 24x7 on my system. When/if there are any errors in my system that hit the event logs, I see them almost immediately and can take action, instead of having to remember to check various independent logs in programs like TI.

In TI, you really want to know when an image has been corrupted and is therefore no longer usable. Otherwise, you may not be checking the log files regularly and won't know that you have an image that will be of no use when you need it.

I've just received the below positive news via email from Acronis on inclusion of event logging in TI Home in the next product release.

Why did you snip the direct quote from Acronis in my last post? What private information did I expose? Confirmation of the commitment to implement the requested feature? The person's name? Why would that be a problem? Acronis isn't part of the CIA/NSA, is it?

As long as I did not reveal the person's email address, SS#, DOB, home address or other truely private information, I don't see what your problem could be.

There have been many news stories where it has come out that the government regularly classifies documents as secret, not because they are, but simply because they can do so whenever they choose to. You are doing the same. Your action makes no logical sense and seems to follow in a similar vein.....

For whatever reason, the policy of this forum is not to post the contents of private messages. I don't think there is a problem with you posting your paraphrased version of the message such as "Acronis support told me that the next version will be rotated 17 degrees".

An email message between 2 individuals might be considered private. A email message between someone representing a commercial entity and an individual is not. The world is not pure black & white and there are no absolutes.

"A email message between someone representing a commercial entity and an individual is not."

That sounds like a pretty "absolute" statement to me.

The policy regarding private communications being posted here at Wilders is very black & white - it is not allowed. As others have mentioned; there is no problem with paraphrasing etc.

OT post removed. I will remind the poster (who will remain unnamed) that issues with moderator actions may be taken up in private witht he admin. I will also point out that this is a privately owned forum. Now, I will close the topic since it was answered by Acronis Support and all posts have been off-topic since the 27th of last month.
