    You know what? I only noticed 1 semi-accidental elbow contact and a very few flops total in the penalty area in both games. The Officials musta gotten the word out.

    Maybe "Fair Play" will rule!!

    Mwahaha....being of Italian descent I should take umbrage to that remark .. but you are absolutely correct. One top Italian club official once said: "Totti always goes down like he's been taken out by a sniper at the top of the stadium."

    I still think the Eyetie breds will be toast!!

    I think the pastas will be done early too. :cautious: :D

    [MOVE]
    Rule Britannia
    [/MOVE]

    When Britain first at Heav'n's command
    Arose from out the azure main;
    This was the charter of the land,
    And guardian angels sang this strain;

    Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves:
    Britons never will be slaves.

    The nations not so blest as thee,
    Shall in their turns to tyrants fall;
    While thou shalt flourish great and free,
    The dread and envy of them all.

    Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves:
    Britons never will be slaves.

    Still mor majestic shalt thou rise,
    More dreadful from each foreign stroke;
    As the loud blast that tears the skies,
    Serves but to root thy native oak.

    Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves:
    Britons never will be slaves.

    Thee haughty tyrants ne'er shall tame,
    All their attempts to bend thee down
    Will but arouse thy generous flame;
    But work their woe, and thy renown.

    Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves:
    Britons never will be slaves.

    To thee belongs the rural reign;
    They cities shall with commerce shine;
    All thine shall be the subject main,
    And every shore it circles thine.

    Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves:
    Britons never will be slaves.

    The Muses, still with freedom found,
    Shall to thy happy coast repair;
    Blest Isle! With matchless beauty crowned,
    And manly hearts to juide the fair.

    Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves:
    Britons never will be slaves.

    [MOVE]Come on, you lads :D [/MOVE]

    Well slammer ole sod,

    If this was a canoe race the Lions would have nothing to worry about. Seeing that Paraguay is not the Spanish Armada they better keep their life jackets handy!

    On reflection...this is the 1st Cup yr that England hasn't been one of my favorites. That could be a good omen for them!

    Play on, big eduardo

    Ps....Dang...I got some horrible news this morning! Seeing as it's cold, rainy, and windy here Wifey has insisted that I huddle by the TV all day w/a hunk of salami, gorgonzola cheese, eyetie bread, an a jug of dago red. I'm dissapointed that I can't mow the lawn or weed the garden. Isn't life always full of dissapointments!!

    [MOVE]You better believe it! :D[/MOVE]

    (But obviously wishing for a peaceful one of the pitch; hope they got plenty to cheer about :))

    Match stats BBC

    ENGLAND vs PARAGUAY

    FULL TIME result: 1-0 (own goal Paraguay :rolleyes: )

    Three points..but a very poor and dissapointing start for the lions...boring game. Not lived up to my expectations. Let's assume they're slow starters & first games are always tough...? :doubt:

    Next: Argentina :) Play on!

    Just found an interesting tidbit

    In National competition the World Record for most humiliating defeat!

    Australia 31 Samoa 0 ....I'm sure the Samoan coach remarked "We were still in the match...but that 31st goal killed us"!

    WoW,

    in a classic David vs Goliath match, TnT is somehow able to hold off the attack of the Swedes. 0-0 the final. :eek:

    Congrats to the Soca Warriors. :thumb:

    ... Was signed: Snowbound, master of very very mild judgements ;)

    Group-C-for-Champions-DAY Today ! :eek:

    Have to get it on record that -despite of my chauvinistic countrymen, of which 95% believes it will be a strawl...:doubt: - I happen to have heaps of RESPECT for Serbia & Montenegro.

    I keep on saying they "should not underestimate the Serbo-Montenegrin threat – Spain would surely attest to that after having been forced into the play-offs by Ilija Petkovic's side. Contrary to some suggestions that the Spanish campaign failed to live up to expectation, it would perhaps be nearer the mark to applaud Serbia and Montenegro for the way in which they handled their passage to Germany.

    Jevric record
    They may not be big scorers but Petkovic's team are physically imposing, resilient and focused. They scored just 16 goals in qualifying with half of that figure coming from their two games against San Marino. But in defence, they give nothing away. Goalkeeper Dragoslav Jevric set a new FIFA World Cup record in qualifying, keeping seven consecutive clean sheets. Indeed, it took a brilliant header, guided straight into the top corner from Spain skipper Raul, to beat him for the one and only time. " :eek:

    (Quote Fifa worldcup)

    Only if we have a brilliant start and get an early goal, I see orange chances... if not I fear for 'choking' by our youngsters and a sneaky 1-0 win by Mateja Kezman...:doubt:
    But hey, no worries, perhaps even better; because remember how we started the only big tournament we ever won back in 1988...? ;)

    We're all very psyched, and eager to get started.
    Holland will be at a full stop, later today at kick-of...all glued to the telly.

    [MOVE]HUP HOLLAND HUP[/MOVE]
