AVG,Antivir,Avast free av

    Does anybody know what engine does Avira or AntiVir use ?

    they have their own engine; i dont know if it has a specific name tho.

    Well i'd recommend avast!. Would recommend AntiVir because they seriously improved it but their update servers are complete garbage so i can't. AVG is out of the league in this case...

    Good to have such a choice :)

    Love my AntiVir, free-av.com keeps my system up-to-date without any problems. Usually on a 56K Dial-Up Connection and checks for fresh Updates on every connection.

    The huge one just loaded at 3AM CET in eight minutes total on Hilton's WiFi, last 'large' one was half that size, three months ago.

    Usually takes 20-45 seconds on Dial-Up.

    Avira and AntiVir became the new AVIRA. The products are now called "Avira AntiVir".

    Their own firewall seems good too.At the moment very simple to use,but light and full stealth

    Sorry to say but I disagree here with you, personally speaking I think the free version of Bitdefender On Demand is better, well thats my personal opinion.
