If you only have to use the registry cleaning feature of these program...which one is more better and thorough but still safe, and will difinitely "fix" registry problems? :cautious:

The Registry Mechanic or TuneUp Utilities 2006 registry cleaner feature? o_O

and how about if we use them both? :D  o_O what can you say, and experience using the two? o_O

I have three registry cleaners I use:
    CCleaner (mild, daily use)
TU2006 (moderate, twice a week use)
jv16Powertools (heavy, once a week, or after a difficult progr. uninstall)

If you use jv16, ever, always create a backup when prompted, unless your 100% sure you know what it's removing isn't a necessary key)

Each has their place, but from the above two, if you had to have one, I say, TU2006, just for the other capabilities it offers.
I've never has TU2006 remove anything that was needed again, and never caused any problems.

For a freebie, CCleaner (I was surprised the first C stands for Crap) is great. Prompts you for a backup before each registry purge. I've never needed another although I did use JV16 when it was free. CCleaner is at 1.29 at the present time.

I'm looking for a registry cleaner, that paid as much attention to ignoring registries as to removing registries.
Upto now, I couldn't find one that meets my wishes, but I contacted AMUST and explained my vision on registry cleaners and I only can hope they understood me and make some changes in the next version(s).

As long Registry Mechanic and TuneUp don't meet my wishes, I won't vote for them. Ace Utilities was very close to my wishes, but not close enough.
It's not my intention to contact all registry cleaner authors, I only need one that is willing to make some changes. If AMUST doesn't change, I will contact another author, until I find one, choice enough. :)
