I have a multi-disk system that has been partitioned using Partition Magic.

I am thinking of purchasing DD10 and was wondering if there were any known issues with using DD10 on a system that had been partitioned with PM.

If there are other threads on this Forum that deal with this issue I would be grateful for the links.

    TiA :)

Howdy! Links including an already searched for term expire quickly here so they don't work very well :doubt:

Hi Detox, see what you mean, tried the link supplied by "crofttk" but got the message " Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms"

Anyone know of any issues with DD10 and PM8 o_O

As for me, I'm not aware about such issues. I'm sure that should not be any issue if you have not done something very strange with your hard drive :)
To be clear, you can encounter some DD10 issues but it will not related to PM.

:doubt: Eh, I see what you mean, Detox.

OK, Tabvla, I thought that was a nifty reference to provide you with but it didn't work out.

I simply did a search on the words partition magic in the Acronis Disk Director Suite forum.

I use PM8 and ADD10 alongside each other. Sometimes one does not correctly see or validate partitions created by the other but I can't be more specific than that for you. So far, I continue using them together because I've always been able to get around or back out of any issues.

Michel Merlin recently posted something similar here: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=757584&postcount=13

    Thanks for the feedback.

The link provided by crofttk to the comments by Michel Merlin were particularly relevant.

If I do decide to go for ADD10 then I will probably retire PM8 and settle on an integrated solution from Acronis.

    As a comment....

The original PM8 as created by PowerQuest has been an outstanding product that I have used without a single problem for several years. In all that time I have not raised one support call or had to post a single question on any forum. The acquisition of PowerQuest by Symantec was a very sad day for all the customers of PowerQuest. Symantec is not renowned for robust software nor a customer centered Support, hence another excellent product bites the dust... :'(

    Hello Tabvla,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Partition and Disk Managing Software.

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

In answer to your original question, actually, it does not matter how the partition was created or what tool was used for this purpose. Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 should work with all your partitions properly.

We recommend you to download and install the free trial version of Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 to see how the software works on your computer.

If you experience any issues with this software you can contact us anytime you want on this forum or by submitting a request for technical support. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.
