Why are you using True Image to do that? I would think the software that came with your burner would be the one to use, or even Windows Explorer. What is on the DVD you are trying to copy to the hard drive?

it is a training DVD for work and i do not have any software that came with the DVD, what I need to know is how to get it from the DVD to my hard drive and than burn a DVD, i have used NERO, Acrois, and vurtualdrive utility and burning suite, i also used shrink 3.2 to bring it over to my hard drive

Then use Nero again ... it will copy a dvd to a dvd. You don't have to copy first to your hard drive.

Are you playing the dvd and hoping to save the video to the hard drive while it is playing? You don't have to do that. Don't let it play.

After stopping it, use Nero to copy the dvd.

If it continues to give you grief in the process, then do the following

    1. Put DVD in the player
    2. OPEN the DVD with windows explorer.
there should be an AUDIO_TS and a VIDEO_TS folder inside there.
    3. COPY those two folders into a separate folder on your hard drive.

    4. Start Nero, go to selection to make VIDEO-DVD

It should open up, and give you a folder/file tree on your right.
Select the folder, drill down to the audio-ts and video-ts folder on the right.
Select both those folders, and drag them to the left window (the destination window).
Nero will place them in their appropriate locations to make a VIDEO-dvD

    5. burn the project

As the prior posts indicate, it really should allow copying directly of the DVD, but the above should work also.

Those who have two DVD writer/burners, copying and burning can be done on the fly ( direct dvd to dvd ). Success is not guaranteed as this will require using lower speeds and real good media.

The best way is to copy first to the hard drive as suggested by other members and then burn to dvd. Unless you have Japan-made dvd media, suggest you burn at half of the rated speed.

If you have Nero, check verify data after burning.
