Rechargable battery question.

I have a:

Charger (Brand - "Arlec"): Normal 50mA and Quick 110mA
Batteries: Powerhaus Ni-MH (Nickel Metal Hydride Oxide) 4x Rechargable batteries. It says on the battery: Standard Charge 14-16 hrs x 260mA and Quick 4-6 Hours x 600mA

Now you see, I have a weak charger (which was bough, say 10 years ago?) and batteries that require a strong charger. So do I do what the battery suggests and charge my batteries 16 hours (at my charger's "Normal" 50mA) or do I charge my batteries for 83 hours to achieve the equvalent of that 260mA.

Please help, I have no idea, do I have a risk of a battery exploding?

Best always is long and slow for recharging batteries, however in your case I would suggest that 16 hours is a "slow" charge and this would be suffice.

I have recently purchased a Maha Charger and Powerex AA Batteries, the advice is the same even with this world class charger.

Wouldn't that just be a waste of recharging cycles then? Since it wouldn't fill up my recharge battery to 100% full capacity (Charger: 50ma, Battery: 260ma)

 

From what I understand of battery charging, doing so at 110Ma is simply throwing more juice at it, both retain the same results in fully charging the battery, however doing so at less current is better for batteries.
